Jimmy and Jey Uso are best known as a WWE tag team, but what they have publicly shared about life beyond the ring is rooted chiefly in family: their father Rikishi, the wider Anoa’i wrestling legacy, and the advice and expectations that came with it. Here are ten documented details, with older personal accounts clearly dated rather than presented as current updates.
1. Jimmy and Jey are twin brothers
WWE identifies Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso as twins. Their partnership is professional as well as familial, but their shared background does not mean every biographical detail applies equally to both.
2. Their father is WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi
WWE’s Jey Uso profile identifies Rikishi as Jey’s father, and WWE’s feature on the brothers describes their father as a source of advice. The family connection is part of their lives beyond the ring as well as their public wrestling story.
3. They belong to the Anoa’i family
WWE’s Jimmy Uso profile places the brothers in the Anoa’i family, a large Samoan American family with a long history in professional wrestling. That context helps explain why wrestling was familiar territory for them, but it should not reduce their own choices to family inheritance alone.

4. Samoan heritage is part of their public identity
The brothers’ Samoan heritage is closely connected to the family history they discuss publicly. It is best understood here through their own account of kinship and wrestling legacy, rather than assumptions about private cultural practices that the cited profiles do not document.
5. They grew up around a wrestling family
Their father’s career and their place in the Anoa’i family meant wrestling was a visible part of their world growing up. In WWE’s The Power Players feature, the brothers describe the family legacy as both an influence and a source of expectations.

6. Family expectations helped motivate them to make their own mark
Jey described the pressure and motivation of coming from a celebrated wrestling family: “My family is put on such a high pedestal that it makes my brother and me want to write our own chapter in the book, and exceed those expectations.” The quote captures a tension beyond the ring: carrying a prominent legacy while trying to distinguish themselves within it.
7. Their father was a trusted source of advice
In the same WWE feature, Jimmy explained how close that guidance could be: “If we have ever got a problem on the road, or ever need any kind of advice, it’s only a phone call away.” WWE identifies his father as the person he trusts for guidance; the quote speaks to the support he described, not to a complete account of their private lives.

8. Uncle Umaga influenced their decision to wrestle
WWE’s video page, “How Umaga saved The Usos’ lives”, says the brothers discussed their uncle Umaga’s influence on their decision to pursue wrestling. The page does not provide a transcript, so it establishes the topic of their discussion but not the precise words or details they used.
9. Jey played football before and during college, according to a 2015 profile
A 2015 CBS Philadelphia profile names Jey as Joshua Samuel Fatu and Jimmy as Jonathan Solofa Fatu. It reports that Jey grew up in Pensacola and played football before and during college. These are details from that dated profile, not a current account of either brother’s education or activities.

10. A 2018 interview discussed Jimmy and Naomi’s shared WWE travel
In a 2018 interview with Sky Sport, Jimmy discussed his marriage to Naomi and the fact that both were working WWE events and traveling at the time. It is a snapshot of their circumstances then, not evidence of their current relationship or schedule.
What these details establish—and what they don’t
WWE’s profiles and feature focus primarily on wrestling careers, while the older interviews offer limited personal context. They support a picture of the brothers’ publicly discussed family ties, legacy, guidance, and selected biographical details; they do not establish their current daily routines, charitable activities, or business ventures. WWE’s Jimmy Uso profile also notes the team’s 622-day tag-team title reign, a career achievement that helps explain their public profile but is not a fact about their private lives.
