There is no official “strongest ten” ranking. This list is an editorial ranking of techniques by their demonstrated lethality, defensive value, versatility, and potential—balanced against the conditions and risks that can make them difficult to use. It weighs the technique as shown through its users, not as an isolated power with every user’s skills removed.
How to read this ranking
A technique’s most spectacular feat does not tell the whole story. Access conditions, user skill, setup, and the chance of failure all affect what it can do in a fight. Drawbacks also differ: some are built into the technique, while others come from the user’s circumstances or the demands of a particular application.

VIZ Media’s April 2022 fan poll is evidence of which abilities readers selected, not a measure of combat strength. Its top ten mix techniques with a cursed spirit, cursed energy, and cursed tools—including Rika, Black Flash, and the Inverted Spear of Heaven—so its placements should not be read as a power ranking. VIZ’s poll results put Gojo’s Limitless first among those fan selections.
1. Limitless
What it does
Limitless lets its user manipulate space, producing techniques such as the defensive effect commonly called Infinity and the destructive applications associated with Blue, Red, and Hollow Purple.

What holds it back
Limitless is not the same thing as the Six Eyes. Gojo’s exceptional control and efficiency depend on that separate inherited trait as well as his own mastery. Treating every Gojo feat as something any Limitless user can reproduce overstates the technique’s accessibility. Its most advanced applications also demand formidable control and cursed-energy management.
Why it ranks first
In Gojo’s hands, it combines defense, movement and overwhelming offense. That breadth is rare: an opponent may need to solve the defensive problem before even getting a chance to exploit an opening.
2. Shrine
What it does
Sukuna’s Shrine is a highly lethal cutting technique, with slashes that can be applied in different ways and expanded into the domain Malevolent Shrine.
What holds it back
Its most consequential applications depend on Sukuna’s extraordinary skill and the circumstances of a fight. A domain is not simply a free upgrade: domain clashes and the consequences of technique burnout can change what a fighter can do next. VIZ’s description of Jujutsu Kaisen, Vol. 26 specifically notes that Gojo and Sukuna repeatedly open domains and repair burnt-out cursed techniques, illustrating the cost and tactical stakes of those exchanges. VIZ’s Volume 26 page identifies the volume and its synopsis.
Why it ranks second
Shrine can threaten opponents with direct, rapid damage, while Malevolent Shrine makes the technique a domain-level danger. Its ranking reflects Sukuna’s demonstrated use, not a claim that every wielder would have the same reach or control.
3. Copy
What it does
Yuta’s Copy lets him reproduce other cursed techniques, giving him access to a varied set of options rather than a single fixed attack.
Rank #2
What holds it back
Copy’s practical value depends on how Yuta obtains and accesses copied techniques, and on the limits attached to his access. Rika is central to how he stores and uses that arsenal; Copy should not be mistaken for an unrestricted ability to select any technique at any time.
Why it ranks third
Versatility can be decisive when a fighter needs to adapt to an unfamiliar opponent. The trade-off is that a broad toolkit has conditions and resource demands; its strongest form is not automatically available in every moment.

4. Ten Shadows Technique
What it does
Ten Shadows gives its user access to shikigami with different combat roles, making it one of the series’ most flexible inherited techniques.
What holds it back
Its options are not a risk-free collection of interchangeable summons. The user must manage the technique’s shikigami and the dangers involved in bringing its most formidable option, Mahoraga, into play. Ten Shadows’ potential also depends heavily on the user’s tactical judgment and ability to handle the consequences of a summon.
Why it ranks fourth
The technique can threaten from multiple angles and offers tools for different situations. That range earns it a high place, even though its most dangerous possibilities can be difficult to control.
5. Idle Transfiguration
What it does
Mahito’s Idle Transfiguration alters the shape of a person’s soul, allowing him to deform or transform bodies through that manipulation.
Rank #3
What holds it back
Its threat is closely tied to contact and to the target’s soul. It is not a universal, effortless instant win: an opponent who can prevent contact or protect their soul can complicate Mahito’s preferred approach. Using the technique on himself also makes Mahito’s own understanding of his soul part of the fight.
Why it ranks fifth
It can be lethal while also giving its user ways to alter his own body. That combination makes it exceptionally dangerous at close range, but its effectiveness depends on the encounter and on the user’s ability to reach and affect a target.
6. Cursed Spirit Manipulation
What it does
Cursed Spirit Manipulation lets its user control cursed spirits, turning them into a varied arsenal that can be deployed for different purposes.
What holds it back
A large arsenal must first be acquired and controlled. The technique’s potential therefore depends on the spirits available to its user, and its effectiveness can vary with the quality and usefulness of that collection. Its maximum application also concentrates power into a specific use rather than making every spirit equally valuable in every situation.

Why it ranks sixth
Few techniques offer comparable breadth of summoned threats. Its ceiling is high, but building and using that arsenal is part of the burden, not a benefit that appears automatically.
7. Star Rage
What it does
Yuki Tsukumo’s Star Rage, also called Bom Ba Ye, lets her add virtual mass to herself and her shikigami Garuda, turning attacks into extraordinary blows.
Rank #4
What holds it back
Its power is concentrated around the technique’s mass-enhancing applications, so the user still has to land attacks and make the opportunity count. The technique does not remove the risks of close combat or guarantee that a powerful strike will decide the fight.
Why it ranks seventh
Star Rage can make a direct hit devastating. Its main limitation is that overwhelming striking force is not the same as universal control over distance, defense, or an opponent’s options.

What it does
Angel’s Technique Extinguishment nullifies cursed techniques, making it a direct threat to opponents whose strategies depend on their innate abilities.
What holds it back
Nullification must be applied under the conditions shown in the story; it is not a passive shield that automatically cancels every threat. The user’s ability to activate and apply it, and the situation in which it is used, matter to its practical effect.
Why it ranks eighth
Against a technique-dependent opponent, disabling the opponent’s core advantage can reshape a fight. Its broad-sounding effect is powerful, but the circumstances of its use keep it from functioning as an unconditional answer to every attack.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.9. Comedian
What it does
Comedian makes Takaba’s comedic ideas real, giving the technique the potential to produce effects its user finds funny.
Best Value
What holds it back
Its usefulness depends on Takaba’s own sense of comedy and state of mind. That makes it unusually difficult to treat as a reliably directed combat tool: the user’s ability to find an idea funny is part of the technique’s operation, not a detail an opponent can ignore.
Why it ranks ninth
Its potential is so unusual that conventional measures of attack and defense do not fully capture it. The same dependence on the user that enables its strange effects also makes its performance hard to predict or reproduce.
10. Projection Sorcery
What it does
Projection Sorcery divides movement into a fixed sequence of frames, letting its user move with exceptional speed when the technique’s rules are followed.
What holds it back
The fixed movement rule is a constraint as well as a source of speed. If the user fails to follow the prescribed sequence, the technique can punish that mistake by freezing the user, creating a vulnerable opening. Its value therefore depends on planning a viable path and executing it precisely.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Why it ranks tenth
Speed can decide a fight, but Projection Sorcery asks its user to obey a rigid system under pressure. It earns a place for the advantage it can create, with reliability as its defining cost.
What the drawbacks reveal
These techniques are powerful in different ways: some overwhelm with damage, some provide options or defense, and others can disrupt an opponent’s entire game plan. Their limits are just as varied. A technique may require a rare trait, a particular resource, access to a target, precise execution, or a user whose mindset supports its effect. The strongest demonstrated application is not always the most dependable one.
For a canonical example of how technique use and recovery can shape a fight, VIZ’s Jujutsu Kaisen, Vol. 26 description says the combatants repeatedly open their domains and repair burnt-out techniques. The series’ official VIZ page says Jujutsu Kaisen began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2018. VIZ’s official series page provides that franchise information.
