DC’s San Diego Comic-Con 2024 announcements ranged from a returning classic logo to new comics, animated series and live-action television previews. The highlights below are an editorial selection, not an official ranking: DC described its own recap as only a small sample of the convention news. Every release date or window here reflects a plan announced in 2024, not a current schedule.
Comics: a new Justice League and an expanding All In slate
1. Justice League Unlimited put the Watchtower at the center of All In
Writer Mark Waid and artist Dan Mora were announced for Justice League Unlimited, a new series tied to DC’s broader fall 2024 All In publishing initiative. Waid described its Watchtower as a home for “every superhero on Earth,” suggesting a wide-angle take on the League rather than a small, fixed roster. DC’s panel report also placed the announcement in the lead-up to the All In Special one-shot, which was planned for publication in the first week of October 2024. DC’s panel report
2. The New Gods and Justice Society brought familiar teams back into focus
DC announced The New Gods by writer Ram V and artist Evan Cagle, with a December 2024 launch plan. A new Justice Society series was also announced, with Jeff Lemire writing and Diego Olortegui drawing. The announcements broadened the All In comics slate beyond the Justice League; the convention recap did not give a release date for the Justice Society series. DC’s convention recap
3. Absolute Flash put a teenage Wally West in an alternate DC setting
Jeff Lemire and Nick Robles were announced as the creative team for Absolute Flash, starring a 15-year-old Wally West. The book belongs to DC’s Absolute line, an alternate-world initiative distinct from the publisher’s core continuity. It was one of the clearest signs that the fall announcements were not limited to extensions of the existing superhero status quo.

Branding: DC brought back its classic bullet logo
Jim Lee announced the return of the Milton Glaser-designed DC bullet logo at the Jim Lee & Friends panel. DC said the mark had been its official logo from 1976 through 2005 and would return to comics starting in October 2024, as well as serve as the DC Studios logo. Gunn said, “Peter (Safran) and I knew we needed one logo that would bring us all together.” The move connected the publisher’s comic-book identity with its studio branding while honoring a familiar mark and the creators behind DC’s stories. DC’s panel report
How the announcements fit together
The convention news covered several distinct DC continuities and formats, rather than one unified release slate:
- Core comics and All In: Justice League Unlimited, The New Gods and the new Justice Society sat among the broader fall publishing initiative.
- Absolute comics: Absolute Flash and Absolute Green Lantern were presented as alternate-world stories, not as additions to the core line.
- Gunn-Safran DC Universe: Creature Commandos was presented as its first screen project.
- Other screen continuities: The Penguin bridges Reeves’ Batman films; Harley Quinn, My Adventures with Superman, Batman: Caped Crusader and Superman & Lois each continued their own series.
- Branding: the returning bullet logo was a shared visual identity, not a new story or continuity announcement.
DC’s July 30 recap explicitly called its list a small sample of the publisher’s convention plans. These ten details therefore capture prominent announcements across comics, animation, live-action television and branding; they are not a claim to cover every DC reveal at San Diego Comic-Con 2024.
