Spoilers for Season 3, Episode 3, “Last Supper.” Belly and Jeremiah announce at a family dinner in Cousins that they are engaged and plan to marry in August. The news lands during a gathering to remember Susannah, drawing disapproval from their parents and a visibly shocked reaction from Conrad.
What happens in “Last Supper”?
Prime Video identifies the third episode of Season 3 as “Last Supper.” The episode brings Belly and Jeremiah’s private engagement into the open at a family dinner in Cousins, where relatives have gathered to remember Susannah. The sequence is described in El Comercio’s episode recap.
Before the gathering, Belly and Jeremiah agree to keep the engagement from their families until everyone is together in Cousins. Belly tells Taylor, who questions the decision; Belly stands by her relationship. Those private conversations set up the contrast between the couple’s shared plan and the family’s response when the news is announced.
Why does the announcement happen at a memorial gathering?
The family is in Cousins to remember Susannah, not to celebrate an engagement. That setting makes the dinner announcement especially fraught: the family is already navigating grief, while unresolved tensions between Belly, Jeremiah, and Conrad remain in the room. The episode uses the gathering to bring the couple’s decision into that wider family history.

At the memorial, Jeremiah has difficulty reaching Conrad, who has been avoiding being near Belly, according to El Comercio’s recap. The distance between them carries into dinner, where remarks from Adam add to the tension before Belly speaks.
How does the family react when Belly announces the engagement?
At dinner, Belly tells the family that she and Jeremiah are engaged and plan to marry in August. The parents react negatively, and Conrad is visibly shocked. The recap does not establish his private thoughts or intentions in that moment, so his reaction is best read as an on-screen response rather than proof of what he feels.

Laurel tells Belly and Jeremiah that they will not stay in Cousins. The announcement therefore does not resolve the family’s disagreements; it immediately changes the terms of the gathering and intensifies the conflict around the couple’s decision.

Prime Video’s season description places the story at the end of Belly’s junior year of college. She expects to spend another summer in Cousins with Jeremiah, but Conrad’s return complicates that expectation and makes her reconsider which brother has her heart. “Last Supper” turns that emotional uncertainty into a public family crisis without, by itself, settling what happens next.
