Why did Mario choose those performances?
In a TV Insider interview published December 18, 2024, Mario said he made deliberate choices about Wasp’s songs and staging. He wanted the character to have “a lot of dimension,” shifting between dancing, emotional performances, and storytelling.
He described “Skyscraper” as difficult because the costume restricted his jaw. Despite that physical challenge, he kept the performance as planned because the song had personal meaning to him.

What did Mario say the experience meant to him?
After the reveal, Mario said the show gave him a chance to reconnect with his younger self: “This gave me the chance to tap back into that kid that didn’t get that chance to be a kid,” FOX TV Stations reported.
He also said he started working in the entertainment industry at 15 and was adopted at 13, describing how the experience connected him with his childhood. FOX’s December 18, 2024 report described him as 38 at the time; that is a dated age, not a current one.
