During The Kelly Clarkson Show’s sixth-season launch in September 2024, Kelly Clarkson said she was covering Chappell Roan “quite a bit.” Two performances are specifically documented: Clarkson’s solo take on “Coffee” and her duet with Miranda Lambert on “Good Luck, Babe!” A music director also said four Roan songs were planned, but that announcement does not establish that all four ultimately aired.
Which Chappell Roan songs did Kelly Clarkson cover?
The confirmed examples differ in format: “Coffee” was a solo Kellyoke performance by Clarkson, while “Good Luck, Babe!” was a duet with Miranda Lambert.

| “Good Luck, Babe!” | Kelly Clarkson and Miranda Lambert, during the season-six kickoff week in September 2024 | Billboard Canada described an acoustic, stripped-back arrangement, with Clarkson taking high notes and Lambert adding a lower harmony. The outlet identified the song as a Hot 100 top-10 hit at the time. |
| “Coffee” | Kelly Clarkson solo, reported September 24, 2024 | TV Insider identified it as a track from Roan’s album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess and noted the choice showed interest in an album cut as well as a better-known song. |
These are covers by Clarkson and Lambert; the reporting does not say Roan appeared on either performance. The arrangement details reported for the duet should not be assumed to describe the solo “Coffee” version.
What did “more Kellyoke” mean in 2024?
Kellyoke is a recurring performance feature on The Kelly Clarkson Show. TV Insider described Clarkson performing a song she loves at the beginning of an episode. The same report said the production sometimes films multiple performances in a day and sometimes films none, so a planned song is not necessarily evidence of a specific broadcast.

- Bold pop hooks, sex positivity, honest songwriting and a heavy dose of glitter make up the world of Chappell Roan, the next multi-faceted force in pop music
In an Associated Press interview published September 20, 2024, Clarkson said, “I’m a big fan of Chappell (Roan.) I’m actually covering her quite a bit this season.” That supports describing a period of increased Roan coverage around the show’s sixth season—not a confirmed increase in the show’s current 2026 output.
Four songs were planned, not confirmed as a final count
TV Insider quoted longtime music director Jason Halbert saying, “We actually have four Chappell Roan songs coming up.” This was a forward-looking statement made in September 2024. The reviewed reports specifically document “Coffee” and “Good Luck, Babe!” but do not establish that four Roan covers ultimately aired or provide a complete final list.

How Kellyoke songs are selected and adapted
Halbert told TV Insider that choices depend on Clarkson’s interests, her connection to a song’s story, and whether the team can get approval from the original artist. He described the challenge of editing longer songs while trying to preserve their story. In the show’s first four seasons, he said, songs that could run three and a half to five minutes had to be reduced to a minute and a half; by season six, longer snippets were possible.
That selection process helps explain why the two documented Roan songs are not simply the same kind of pick: the coverage included “Good Luck, Babe!”—which Billboard Canada described as a top-10 hit at the time—and the album track “Coffee.” The available accounts do not establish which specific factor led to either song being chosen.

How many songs does Clarkson say she performs each season?
In the September 2024 AP interview, Clarkson said, “I cover 180 songs a season.” That is her own stated seasonal figure, not an independently verified production count. In the same interview, she described music as being “for everyone,” regardless of culture or age.

The sources cited here document the performances but do not establish their current availability by clip, platform, or territory. Peacock’s July 23, 2025 retrospective mentions the Clarkson–Lambert “Good Luck, Babe!” cover in connection with the show’s “Songs & Stories” daytime segment. It separately describes a four-episode Songs & Stories With Kelly Clarkson special announced for NBC in August and September 2025, with next-day streaming on Peacock. That was a separate special, not Kellyoke, and its past schedule does not establish current streaming access to either cover. See Peacock’s retrospective.
