The Gorge is a 2025 Apple Original Film about two operatives stationed in guard towers on opposite sides of a secret gorge. Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy play the pair, who form a connection from a distance before a danger inside forces them to work together. Here are nine spoiler-light facts about the film, its cast and where to watch it.
1. It’s a thriller with science-fiction and romantic elements
Apple classifies The Gorge as a thriller. The film also combines action, science-fiction and romance. Associated Press critic Jake Coyle described its tonal mix as “rom-com with sci-fi,” while judging the result “mostly ridiculous.” That is Coyle’s critical assessment, rather than Apple’s official genre label.
2. Its premise keeps the gorge’s secret under wraps
Two trained operatives are assigned to guard opposite sides of a vast, classified gorge. They bond across the distance, then face a threat that brings them together. Apple’s official synopsis does not identify what lies inside, so it is best to go in without seeking spoilers if you want to preserve that reveal.
3. Miles Teller plays Levi
Teller stars as Levi, one of the operatives stationed at the gorge. Apple’s announcement of the film’s global premiere names him among the cast.
