The Fantastic Four: First Steps has two stingers: a mid-credits scene introduces Doctor Doom in a brief encounter with Franklin, while the scene after the full credits is a playful animated title sequence for an in-universe Fantastic Four TV show. The Doom scene teases a future story but does not explain his motive or confirm a crossover to the main MCU universe.
What happens in the mid-credits scene?
Set four years after the film’s main events, the scene shows Sue Storm reading with her young son Franklin. Sue steps away to find another book. When she returns, Franklin is face-to-face with an intruder: a figure in a green cloak holding a metal mask.
The image identifies the figure as Doctor Doom, though his face is not shown. The encounter is brief, and the film does not reveal what he wants from Franklin. TheWrap and the Los Angeles Times describe the scene as a Doom reveal without an explanation of his intentions.
What does Doctor Doom want with Franklin?
The film does not say. Doom is a longstanding Fantastic Four antagonist, and placing him beside Franklin clearly sets up a threat or conflict. But the scene does not establish that Doom intends to kidnap Franklin, take his powers, or use him for any specific plan. Those possibilities remain speculation; the Los Angeles Times likewise notes that Doom’s interest in Franklin is not revealed.

Does the scene connect the Fantastic Four to the main MCU?
Not on screen. The Fantastic Four: First Steps takes place on Earth-828, a separate corner of the Marvel multiverse. Time reports that the Doom stinger also remains on Earth-828. It does not show the team traveling to the main MCU universe or explain how or when such a move might happen. The scene is a Doom-and-Franklin tease, not proof of a particular crossover mechanism.
What happens after the full credits?
The second bonus is an animated title sequence for a Fantastic Four television show that exists within the film’s world. It is a light homage rather than another major plot reveal. TheWrap and the Los Angeles Times describe it as an in-universe TV sequence.
