BLEACH: Rebirth of Souls is the strongest starting point for most players who want a dedicated Bleach game today: it is the newest console-and-PC entry in this list, with a story spanning Ichigo’s Substitute Soul Reaper days through the Arrancar arc. For free-to-play mobile action, Bleach: Brave Souls is the better fit. The rest of the ranking balances how well each game delivers the Bleach fantasy, its gameplay and story, documented roster or multiplayer features, and practical access. This is an editorial ranking, not a universal consensus or a hands-on review.

BLEACH: Rebirth of Souls
Best for a current, story-led console or PC game. Bandai Namco lists PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, with over 30 playable characters at launch. Its modes include Story, Secret Story, Mission Mode, local/offline Versus and online Free Match. The Story Mode follows Ichigo from the Substitute Soul Reaper arc to the Aizen confrontation at the end of the Arrancar arc; it does not cover the full Bleach story through the Thousand-Year Blood War. Bandai Namco’s game page and launch announcement document its platforms and features.
The publisher describes combat as one-on-one action built around awakening and reversals. In its January 16, 2025 system overview, Bandai Namco explains: “Each character can also draw from their Konpaku, or spiritual energy, to pull off distinct Signature Moves and unleash their Reiatsu, powerful unique attacks known as Spiritual Pressure Moves.” That is the publisher’s description of the system, not an independent assessment of how it plays. Steam lists a minimum storage requirement of 75 GB; check the current Steam listing for other PC requirements and regional availability.
Choose it if you want a modern dedicated Bleach game with story and both local and online versus modes. Its launch roster is substantial, but roster size alone does not determine game quality.

Bleach: Brave Souls
Best for free-to-play mobile action and character collection. KLab announced the game’s English-language availability on the App Store and Google Play on January 14, 2016. Its character-collection loop and ongoing mobile format make it a different proposition from a traditional paid fighting game. The franchise has also had releases on other platforms, but availability varies: check the store in your region before relying on a particular version. See KLab’s English-release announcement.
-
Bleach: The Blade of Fate
Best classic handheld fighter. This Nintendo DS 2D fighting game is a notable choice for fans who want a portable versus-focused Bleach title. Its historical release record includes Japan, North America, Australia and Europe. It belongs to the DS generation, so access today depends on finding the game and compatible hardware; do not assume that legacy online features remain available.
Rank #2
-
Bleach: Dark Souls
Best follow-up for DS versus play. Another Nintendo DS fighter, Dark Souls builds on the handheld-versus format and has documented multiplayer support. Its North American and European releases make it less import-dependent than Japan-only entries, but current hardware and online compatibility should be checked rather than presumed.
-
Bleach: The 3rd Phantom
Best genre change-up. This Nintendo DS release is a strategy RPG, not a conventional fighting game, making it the clearest pick here for players who want a different way to engage with Bleach characters and conflicts. It had a North American release in 2009 and a European release in 2010. Its historical catalog record also notes multiplayer systems, though the exact current compatibility of those features is not established.

Bleach: Soul Resurreccion - Playstation 3 (Renewed)- A Massive Free-roaming Cel-shaded Action/adventure!: The incredibly popular anime and manga franchise comes to PS3 as an action-packed free-roaming adventure with silky smooth animations and breathtaking special effects.
- First Console Game for the Huge Anime Mega-Franchise: With over 65 million copies of the manga sold and over 1 million in US DVD sales, Bleach is one of the most popular anime series in the world, and Soul Resurreccion marks the IP's first console game.
- 21 playable characters in the mission mode! Bleach fans will certainly not be left wanting more, since the game has much more to offer!
- Customizable Character Leveling System! Unlock status enhancements and add special abilities through a customized "Character Map" for each playable character.
-
Bleach: Soul Resurrección
Best older console action game. NIS America described the PS3 game as a free-roaming hack-and-slash title with story and bonus missions, character progression and 21 playable characters. Its August 2, 2011 North American release included English and Japanese voice tracks. That makes it a useful option for players interested in a more action-focused take than a traditional fighter, provided they can access a PS3 copy and hardware. NIS America’s release announcement documents those launch features.
-
Bleach: Heat the Soul 7
Best for a large-roster PSP fighter. A historical catalog entry reports over 80 playable characters and a four-player battle mode. Those figures are catalog-reported, not a directly verified publisher count. The game was released in Japan; it should not be presented as having received a Western localization. Import access and PSP hardware are practical considerations.

Bleach: Soul Carnival 2
Best for a lighter, stylized PSP action game. Soul Carnival 2 offers a change of tone and format from the franchise’s straight fighting games. A historical catalog entry reports more than 120 characters, but that figure is not independently confirmed here by a primary publisher source. It was released in Japan, so players outside that market may need an import copy.
-
Bleach: Blade Battlers 2nd
Best for exploring the PS2-era 3D fighting series. Its historical catalog record lists 36 playable characters, along with four-player cooperative and versus modes. The game was released in Japan, making it an import-oriented choice rather than an easy recommendation for every region. Confirm disc, console-region and language compatibility before buying.

Bleach: Shattered Blade
Best Wii-era option. Shattered Blade rounds out the list with a Bleach fighting game for Wii. Its release record includes Japan and North America, and the catalog documents a two-player battle mode. It offers a different hardware context from the handheld and PlayStation entries, but specific motion-control details are not established here.
How to choose the right Bleach game
- For a current dedicated game: Start with Rebirth of Souls, and check the store for your platform and region.
- For free-to-play mobile action: Look at Brave Souls, but verify its current listing where you live.
- For story: Rebirth of Souls has a documented story endpoint at the end of the Arrancar arc. Soul Resurrección is a more action-oriented older alternative.
- For versus play: Rebirth of Souls offers documented local and online modes. The DS and older console titles provide historical alternatives, but their present-day multiplayer compatibility is not guaranteed.
- For genre variety: The list includes a strategy RPG, stylized action and hack-and-slash games as well as fighters.
- For a large roster: Heat the Soul 7 and Soul Carnival 2 have larger catalog-reported counts than Rebirth of Souls, but the figures come from different sources and contexts and do not make the games directly comparable.
- For accessibility: The newer Rebirth of Souls and mobile Brave Souls are more practical starting points than Japan-only games tied to PSP or PS2 hardware. Legacy titles may require used copies, imports or older systems.
What the ranking does—and does not—mean
The order reflects documented Bleach-specific content, gameplay distinction, story value, modes and roster information where available, alongside practical access. There is no common review-score dataset or cross-series ranking study in the sources used here, and the list does not claim a verified player consensus. Older-game details are drawn from historical catalog records, so confirm regional release, language and hardware compatibility for a specific copy before purchasing.
