Spoilers for Season 2, Episode 5 of The Buccaneers. Lizzy reaches her wedding day still torn between Hector, the man she is engaged to marry, and Theo, the man she has fallen for. Theo’s last-minute plea forces that conflict into the open, but the episode ends before Lizzy answers or the wedding’s outcome is revealed.
Lizzy’s wedding puts her feelings for Theo at the center
Lizzy’s dilemma is not simply a choice between two men. She is approaching marriage to Hector while her relationship with Theo has become romantic. Pursuing Theo would mean entering a secret arrangement while he remains married to Nan; going ahead with the wedding would mean marrying Hector despite her feelings for Theo.
That conflict gives Lizzy the episode’s defining decision, even as the story keeps widening around her. Her wedding becomes a point where private desire, commitment and the consequences for other people meet. The episode builds toward a confrontation, not a settled answer.
What does Nan’s return change?
Nan returns from Italy, adding pressure to an already precarious situation. Theo’s marriage to Nan makes the possibility of a relationship with Lizzy more complicated than a straightforward romantic escape. Her arrival sharpens the stakes of keeping anything between Lizzy and Theo secret.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The episode’s structure also moves attention away from the wedding. Nan’s return reconnects the English storyline to events in Italy, while the other characters’ plots continue to develop alongside Lizzy’s.
What happens in the Italy storyline?
Guy and Paloma
In Italy, Guy’s connection with Paloma develops. It is a concurrent thread rather than the resolution of Lizzy’s wedding story, giving the episode another relationship to follow as the central crisis approaches.

Jinny and Seadown
Jinny remains entangled with Seadown’s efforts to persuade her to return. The episode keeps that pressure in the ensemble mix rather than resolving it through Lizzy’s storyline.
Does Lizzy marry Hector?
The episode does not show whether Lizzy goes through with the marriage. Shortly before the wedding, Theo reaches her and asks her to reconsider. The story cuts off before she responds, so neither a decision to marry Hector nor a choice to be with Theo is confirmed in this episode.

That ending is the cliffhanger: Theo makes his appeal at the moment when Lizzy must face what she wants, but viewers are left without her answer. Any claim that she chooses one of them here goes beyond what the episode’s ending establishes.
Why the ensemble can feel like it steals Lizzy’s spotlight
Lizzy’s wedding is the episode’s central pressure point, but it is not the only active story. Nan’s return complicates the romance, and the Italy scenes continue Guy and Paloma’s developing connection as well as Jinny’s situation with Seadown. Those shifts make the episode feel like an ensemble chapter rather than an uninterrupted focus on Lizzy.

That balance is a matter of emphasis, not a separate plot outcome: Lizzy’s decision remains unresolved, while the surrounding stories keep moving. Ready Steady Cut’s review criticizes how quickly the romance develops; that is the reviewer’s judgment, distinct from the events themselves.
