She leaves with Qimir, while Mae is left behind with her memories of Osha erased. The episode closes with the reveal that the shadowed figure is Darth Plagueis—but leaves his intentions and the twins’ future unresolved.
What happens in “The Acolyte” finale?
Season 1, episode 8, titled “The Acolyte,” returns to the aftermath of the previous episode’s confrontation. Osha and Mae meet amid the ruins and revisit the night their family was destroyed. Sol admits to Osha that he killed their mother. He believes he acted to protect the twins, but Osha experiences the confession as a betrayal. StarWars.com’s episode guide frames the finale around the twins’ past and an uncertain future.
As Sol and Qimir face off, Osha’s own confrontation with the truth reaches its breaking point. She kills Sol through the Force, without a weapon. The act unexpectedly fulfills the mission Mae set out to complete: killing a Jedi without using a weapon. Osha then leaves with Qimir, accepting the path he offers. StarWars.com’s finale coverage connects Mae’s mission to Osha’s choice.
Why does Osha kill Sol?
The episode makes the immediate cause plain: Sol confesses that he killed Osha’s mother, and Osha responds by killing him. The meaning of that decision is less settled. Her action follows grief and anger, but the finale also presents it as a consequential choice in her own Force journey. Qimir’s influence is part of the situation; the episode does not make it possible to reduce Osha’s decision to either his control or her independent will alone.

That tension matters to the ending. Osha does not simply learn a painful fact and return to her old life. She leaves with Qimir, taking a new and dangerous direction after killing Sol. The finale establishes that turn, but it does not show what her apprenticeship will become.
What happens to Mae and Osha?
The twins reunite, but their reunion does not restore their childhood bond. They are separated again: Osha departs with Qimir, and Mae is left behind without her memories of Osha. The ending gives the twins sharply unequal outcomes—one moves toward Qimir’s dark-side path, while the other loses the memory of the relationship that once defined her life.

Who is the shadowed figure at the end?
The figure is Darth Plagueis. Creator Leslye Headland confirmed the identification in StarWars.com’s finale coverage. His appearance is a reveal, not a full explanation: the image does not establish what Plagueis intends, what he knows about Osha and Qimir, or exactly how he relates to Qimir.

The finale confirms Osha’s departure with Qimir, Mae’s memory loss, and Plagueis’s presence. It does not establish what happens next. Plagueis’s brief appearance raises questions about the story’s larger stakes, but it is not enough to treat any particular plan or future continuation as confirmed.
