Aysha Welch says “Hello, Mr. Gamer” after spotting Rome Cooney searching around camp for a beware advantage. That exchange gives Survivor 47’s premiere its memorable title moment; the episode also introduces 18 castaways, sends two on a journey, and ends with Jon Lovett becoming the first person voted out, according to a recap discussion of the episode.
What is the Survivor 47 premiere called, and when did it air?
Season 47, episode 1 is titled “One Glorious and Perfect Episode.” CBS lists its air date as September 18, 2024, and its episode page gives a runtime of 86 minutes. CBS billed the premiere as a two-hour broadcast, which describes the scheduled slot rather than the listed episode runtime. CBS’s episode listing carries the official title and episode details.
What happens in “Hello, Mr. Gamer!”?
The opening setup
Eighteen castaways arrive in Fiji and begin the season divided among Gata, Lavo, and Tuku. The opening challenge offers a pot, machete, and flint, while a pair of castaways is selected for a journey to find the X that marks the spot. CBS’s official premiere announcement describes the setup and identifies the cast: Paramount Press Express’s Survivor announcement.
The castaways are Anika Dhar, Andy Rueda, Aysha Welch, Caroline Vidmar, Gabe Ortis, Genevieve Mushaluk, Jon Lovett, Kishan Patel, Kyle Ostwald, Rachel LaMont, Rome Cooney, Sam Phalen, Sierra Wright, Solomon “Sol” Yi, Sue Smey, Teeny Chirichillo, Terran “TK” Foster, and Tiyana Hallums. The three tribe names are used in the episode discussion; the cited CBS cast listing does not establish a complete tribe roster.

Aysha spots Rome searching
Rome finds a beware-advantage clue and searches around camp for the advantage. Aysha notices what he is doing and calls out, “Hello, Mr. Gamer.” The moment and wording are recounted in a September 24, 2024, Rob Has a Podcast “Club Condo” discussion transcript. That is a secondary account of the exchange, not an official CBS transcript.
Andy’s emotional moment and the first vote
Before Gata’s first tribal council, Andy becomes visibly emotional and tries to explain his position to Jeff Probst and the tribe. The podcast discussion treats this as a major dramatic beat; describing what happens does not require assigning him a diagnosis or reducing the scene to one.
