The couple later welcomed a son, Justin Patrick Griffin Jr., in February 2026, according to the Los Angeles Times.
What happened after Griffin announced her pregnancy?
Griffin shared the news during a live episode of The View, with her husband in the studio audience, TVLine reported. She was expecting a boy in February 2026, she said at the time. That was the expected due month, not a reported birth date.
On February 12, 2026, the Los Angeles Times reported that the couple had welcomed their son, Justin Patrick Griffin Jr. The paper said co-host Whoopi Goldberg announced on air that the baby weighed 7 pounds and measured 19 1/2 inches, and that mother and baby were doing well.
How did Griffin reveal the news on The View?
The announcement followed a clip of Goldberg previously asking Griffin whether she was pregnant. After it played, Griffin turned back to her co-host and said, “So Whoopi, do you want to ask me again?” TV Insider and The Independent reported the exchange.

Griffin said it took five rounds of IVF and about a year to become pregnant, according to TVLine and TV Insider. That is her account of her own fertility journey, not a typical treatment timeline or a prediction for someone else.

In December 2024, before the pregnancy announcement, Griffin said on a Behind the Table podcast excerpt reproduced by TVLine: “My husband and I have been hoping, trying to get pregnant for about a year and a half, and it wasn’t happening naturally, so we made the decision to move forward with IVF.” The Independent also reported that Griffin said she learned she had endometriosis during the fertility process; that personal detail does not establish a medical cause for her experience.
TV Insider reported that Griffin encouraged people experiencing infertility not to give up hope and, where possible, to meet with their doctors. Her comments reflect her personal perspective, not medical advice.
