Yes. Prime Video renewed The Legend of Vox Machina for Season 4 on October 23, 2024, one day before the Season 3 finale was scheduled to air. The series has since continued: Season 4 premiered June 3, 2026, and Season 5 has been announced as its final season.
Was The Legend of Vox Machina renewed before the Season 3 finale?
Yes. Prime Video announced the Season 4 renewal on October 23, 2024; the Season 3 finale was scheduled for October 24. The timing meant the show’s fate was settled before viewers saw the season’s conclusion—not that the series was ending with Season 3. TVLine reported the renewal and quoted executive producer Sam Riegel, who said the team was “beyond thrilled — and grateful — to continue” the adventures of Vox Machina.
What is the show’s status now?
The story moved beyond that initial renewal. At San Diego Comic-Con on July 24, 2025, Prime Video announced Season 5 and identified it as the final season. That announcement established a planned endpoint for the series; it was not a cancellation at the time of the Season 3 finale. TVLine covered the announcement. Amazon MGM Studios animation head Melissa Wolfe called reaching five seasons a significant milestone, while executive producers Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham said it was rare for a television series to tell a complete story as envisioned.
When did Season 4 come out?
Season 4 premiered June 3, 2026, according to Amazon’s U.S. June 2026 release guide. The guide describes the season as taking place a year after the Chroma Conclave: the party has separated, until a new evil brings them back together. The date is from the U.S. release guide; streaming catalogues and availability can differ by region.

What is The Legend of Vox Machina?
It is an adult animated fantasy action-comedy based on characters and adventures from Critical Role, the actual-play role-playing series. Amazon’s 2019 announcement said Critical Role’s Kickstarter campaign had raised “over $11.3M,” enough to fund a 10-episode season. Amazon also said it ordered 14 additional episodes at that time, bringing the planned total for the first two seasons to 24. Those are historical campaign and order figures, not a current episode count.
