The reveal is now a retrospective one: Sony released the film theatrically on May 30, 2025, and currently lists it on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and digital.
Who is Li Fong in Karate Kid: Legends?
Li Fong is the film’s young martial-arts lead, played by Ben Wang. The October 2024 first-look report identified Wang as Li; the accessible reporting confirms the actor-character pairing but does not establish further details about the poster’s appearance.
Sony describes Li as a kung fu prodigy who moves from Beijing to New York City with his mother. He has difficulty fitting in and tries to avoid fighting, but steps into a karate competition when a new friend needs help. Sony’s film page provides the current official synopsis.
What is the film about?
Li’s teacher, Mr. Han, played by Jackie Chan, asks Daniel LaRusso, played by Ralph Macchio, to help train him. Li learns to draw on both teachers’ approaches as he prepares for the competition. The story centers on a new protagonist while bringing together characters from the wider Karate Kid franchise.
