EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami—the singers behind HUNTR/X in Netflix’s animated film KPop Demon Hunters—made a surprise appearance during the Saturday Night Live season 51 premiere on October 4, 2025. They performed an abbreviated version of “Golden” in a sketch; it was not their first full performance together.
What happened in the SNL sketch?
The appearance came during the season 51 premiere, hosted by Bad Bunny. The sketch began as a brunch conversation in which Bad Bunny’s character repeatedly brought up KPop Demon Hunters. Bowen Yang appeared as Jinu, the film’s demon boy-band character, before the HUNTR/X singers joined the musical action.
The trio performed a short excerpt of “Golden.” Coverage also reports a snippet of “How It’s Done,” while Yang’s Jinu performed “Soda Pop.” Peacock’s official recap described the cameo this way: “The singers who voiced the iconic Huntr/x make a surprise appearance to perform their iconic hit single, ‘Golden.’” (Peacock’s season 51 premiere recap)
Who are the singers behind HUNTR/X?
- EJAE
- Audrey Nuna
- Rei Ami
They are the singers behind HUNTR/X, the fictional group in KPop Demon Hunters. Their SNL appearance brought them into the sketch as performers, rather than presenting a full concert-style song.

Was SNL their first full performance together?
No. The SNL segment was an abbreviated sketch appearance, not the trio’s first full performance together. Rolling Stone Australia reported that the group’s first full performance together followed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In other words, SNL came first as a brief cameo; the later Tonight Show appearance was the full-performance milestone. (Rolling Stone Australia’s account of the SNL and Tonight Show appearances)
Some coverage characterizes the SNL segment as the first live performance of “Golden,” but that wording should not be stretched into a claim that it was the trio’s first full live performance together. ComingSoon also identifies the appearance as the first live performance of “Golden.” (ComingSoon’s episode coverage)
