Only Murders in the Building season 4 brings back familiar faces and adds a Hollywood cast to the mystery. The announced guest stars include Meryl Streep, Zach Galifianakis, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Richard Kind, Jane Lynch, Melissa McCarthy, Kumail Nanjiani, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Molly Shannon. The list below identifies the roles established by official announcements and cast references; it is not a complete, episode-by-episode inventory of everyone seen onscreen.
Who are the guest stars in season 4?
Disney’s August 2024 season announcement named ten guest performers and added “and more.” A September announcement listed eight: Meryl Streep, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Eva Longoria, Richard Kind, Melissa McCarthy, Kumail Nanjiani and Molly Shannon. The two releases differ in scope; neither presents a definitive onscreen appearance list for every episode. Disney’s season announcement and its later release provide the respective rosters.

The roles and character descriptions in the table are corroborated by Tech Advisor’s season 4 cast guide, which covered spoilers through episode seven when published. Treat it as a guide to identified roles, not proof of the complete season roster.
How the guest cast fits the season’s story
Season 4 opens with the question of whether Charles or his stunt double, Sazz Pataki, was the intended target. The investigation takes the trio from the Arconia to Los Angeles, where a studio is developing a film adaptation of their podcast, and then back to New York and the building’s West Tower. The Hollywood storyline brings Galifianakis, Levy and Longoria into the plot as performers preparing to portray Oliver, Charles and Mabel; Shannon plays the producer behind the project. Kind and Nanjiani’s characters are among the West Tower residents drawn into the investigation.

Other performers in the Hollywood storyline
Scott Bakula appears as himself in the Hollywood storyline. Jin Ha plays Marshall Peepope, Siena Werber plays Tawny Brothers and Catherine Cohen plays Trina Brothers. These roles appear in the season cast guide, and the official episode-one screenplay lists Bev Melon, Levy, Galifianakis, Longoria, Loretta, Tawny, Trina, Marshall and Bakula among the premiere’s cast. That script confirms their presence in the premiere’s scripted cast; it does not establish who appears across the whole season.
Why there is no definitive onscreen-only list here
The official announcements identify guest stars, and the premiere screenplay provides episode-specific cast evidence. Neither source separates every season credit into visible onscreen appearances, voice-only roles, archival footage or offscreen credits. For that reason, these names are best read as announced guests and identified story roles, not as an exhaustive list of every person seen onscreen in season 4.
