How did the tribute album come together?
In a May 16, 2025 interview, Cinema Music Group representative Dave Resnik said the idea began while the group was recording with Chris Pierce in 2022. A conversation about covers led them to speak with Young and receive his blessing. The producers then invited Chris Pierce, Sharon Van Etten, and Draco Rosa to a 2023 session, and the project developed from there. Resnik said the participating artists chose the songs they wanted to cover.
Resnik said Brandi Carlile recorded “Philadelphia” about 15 months after the first session. He described the tracking as full performances, with nearly every track recorded in one or two takes. Those are the producers’ descriptions in the interview, rather than independently documented session records. Resnik summarized their intent: “We wanted to approach recording the record with as much care and respect for the original songs as possible and we believed the best way to do that was by letting the artists pick the songs they wanted to cover.”

Which cause does the album support?
The project benefits The Bridge School, a nonprofit founded by Neil and Pegi Young in 1986. The official store describes its work supporting people with complex communication and physical disabilities. In the project interview, the producers discussed the school’s support for children with severe speech and physical impairments, including through assistive technology.
In that May 16, 2025 interview, the producers said the project had raised $100,000 for The Bridge School. That is their reported total as of the interview, not an independently audited or current cumulative figure.

The bundle page is marked sold out, so the listing does not establish current availability of Vol. 1 on its own or its current market price. The $67.98 USD shown is the listed price for that bundle, not a verified standalone price.
