In “Teleportation Gone Wrong,” the faraway tree fails as an escape route when Dale enters it and ends up trapped in the concrete of the town pool. His death gives force to Boyd’s warning that nobody can count on the tree to deliver them somewhere safe. Meanwhile, Tabitha’s return divides the town, and Victor reunites with Henry.
Why is Tabitha’s return upsetting the town?
Tabitha’s return sparks anger as well as hope. At a town meeting, residents question why she did not call for help while she was outside. Some see the faraway tree as a way to escape and bring help back; others are wary of risking another life on an uncertain route.
Boyd urges caution. With Randall returned alive after the monsters leave him behind, Boyd reads the act as a warning: daylight is no longer a reason for residents to assume they are safe. The argument over the tree is therefore about more than whether escape is possible—it is about whether anyone can predict the cost.
What happens to Dale when he enters the faraway tree?
Dale ignores the warnings and enters the tree, hoping it will take him home so he can summon help. Instead, he appears embedded in the concrete of the town pool. Boyd cannot save him, and Dale dies there.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The episode makes the tree’s danger concrete: it can transport someone, but its destination cannot be assumed to be safe or predictable. Dale’s death does not establish a reliable method for choosing where the tree leads.
What happens to Victor and Henry?
Victor and Henry meet in Colony House and embrace. Victor tells him, “I didn’t know how to get home.” Their reunion gives the episode a quieter emotional counterpoint to the town’s argument over escape.

What is Fatima worried about?
Fatima tells Ellis that she is craving rotten vegetables and is frightened by what is happening with her pregnancy. The conversation brings her private anxiety into the episode without resolving what the cravings mean.
