What happened in “The Circle Game”?
In the finale, the Fugitive Task Force hunts a rogue group of government operatives planning a domestic terror attack. CBS’s synopsis also says the team prepares for “big changes.” David Hudgins and Richard Sweren wrote the episode, and Ken Girotti directed it.
Was FBI: Most Wanted cancelled?
Yes. CBS called “The Circle Game” the series finale in its announcement, establishing that it was the show’s final episode rather than the end of a season with another season announced. TVLine’s May 20, 2025 schedule coverage also described the series as cancelled.

How CBS said viewers could watch it
In its 2025 release, CBS said the finale would air on the CBS Television Network and stream on Paramount+. The release described these access terms at the time:
Rank #2
- Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers: could watch live through their local CBS affiliate feed and watch on demand.
- Paramount+ Essential subscribers: could watch on demand the day after the broadcast.
Those are the terms in CBS’s 2025 announcement; they do not establish today’s plan names, regional availability, or whether the episode is currently in a particular catalog.

TVLine’s schedule placed FBI earlier that evening, with its season finale at 8 p.m., followed by FBI: International and then FBI: Most Wanted at 10 p.m. That schedule context distinguishes the flagship show’s season finale from Most Wanted’s series finale.
