The promo for “Devoted,” identified as FBI Season 7, Episode 21, returns to the online conspiracy community led by Duke Ducoyle, a suspect from the earlier “Monumental” case. The new investigation begins with the deaths of two IRS special agents in Brooklyn and leads the team back to that group. A reported CBS sneak peek also shows Duke trying to escape prison.
What happens in “Devoted”?
Collider’s May 7, 2025, article, carried on IMDb News, quotes the episode logline: “When two IRS special agents are stabbed to death in Brooklyn, the team is thrown into an investigation that leads back to the resurgence of the online conspiracy community of Duke Ducoyle, their suspect from a previous case.” The description makes the killings the entry point to a case tied to a familiar group, rather than a storyline wholly separate from the series’ earlier investigation.

The reported promo connection is to “Monumental,” the earlier case involving Duke and his followers. The article describes Duke, played by Jere Burns, as a popular podcaster who leads a conspiracy-minded online community convinced that the FBI is its enemy. It says he used his large following to intimidate the bureau.
How Duke’s return connects the two episodes
“Devoted” brings back both the leader and the community associated with “Monumental.” The new case’s link to them is described as the resurgence of that online group; the available episode description does not spell out what role the community plays in the agents’ deaths or how the team establishes the connection.

Collider’s article also reports that a CBS sneak peek shows Duke attempting to break out of prison. That detail suggests he remains an active part of the episode’s story, but the promo report does not establish whether he escapes or explain what happens next.
