The season adapts the Colin-and-Penelope courtship from Romancing Mister Bridgerton, the fourth novel in Julia Quinn’s series. Netflix showrunner Jess Brownell described the season’s midpoint structure this way: “There is a natural structure to eight episodes, and we’ve done it actually every season, that Episode 4 ends on a big world-shifting midpoint.”

In a 2026 Tudum article, Netflix reported 91.9 million views for Season 3 between May 16 and June 30 and said it ranked No. 10 on Netflix’s all-time most popular English-language TV list at that time. This is a dated Netflix-reported figure, not an independent measurement or a current ranking.
