He also said he chose to forgive her and would have welcomed a conversation as he left.
What Matt hoped Angela would learn
In an exit interview with Entertainment Weekly’s Dalton Ross, published July 26, 2024, Matt was asked what he thought Angela might feel when she watched the events back on television. He replied: “I don’t know, but I do hope that there will be some learning lessons for her, and not just in her experience with me, but with her experience with a lot of people.” Yahoo’s republication of the interview records his comments.
Matt framed the possibility of learning broadly rather than saying Angela alone had something to take away. He said he believed there were lessons for everyone in the game and the experience.
The confrontation behind his comments
The interview describes Angela confronting Matt after suspecting he might target her if she nominated him. She criticized his character and referred to how his parents might feel watching the show. Matt also said some houseguests were nervous to be in areas where Angela was, adding: “I think that there were some in the house that also caught some strays within what was happening.” That is Matt’s recollection in the interview, not an independently established account of every houseguest’s experience.

Matt said he wanted to forgive her
Matt said he did not think he and Angela interacted as he left the house, though he would have liked to speak with her. He said he chose to forgive her despite disagreeing with how she had treated him, explaining: “I wanted to model that because that’s who I want to be and how I want to live my life.”
How Matt left the game
Matt lost the BB AI Arena competition to Kimo Apaka and was evicted by an 8–3 vote, according to the interview. His comments about Angela came after that exit, as he reflected on the conflict and on what he hoped the houseguests—including himself—might learn from the experience.
