The opening chapter finds Cassian Andor more capable but still operating in a rebellion without reliable coordination. As he returns to a compromised refuge on Mina-Rau, the Imperial threat reaches ordinary communities, while Mon Mothma’s political and family lives become harder to separate. These three episodes begin a season structured around a year of change at a time.
What happens in Andor Season 2, episodes 1–3?
The three episodes—“One Year Later,” “Sagrona Teema” and “Harvest”—pick up a year after Maarva Andor’s funeral. The premiere is set four years before Rogue One. Cassian’s work for the rebellion has made him more assured, but the people and groups he encounters are far from a unified force.
At the Sienar Test Facility, Cassian encourages a new recruit, Niya, and steals an experimental TIE Avenger. He reaches a rendezvous on Yavin 4 expecting a contact, only to find a stranded, hungry rebel offshoot divided by internal conflict. Cassian tries to keep the group alive and focused, then makes his own escape when the situation offers no dependable path forward.
That failed rendezvous establishes the chapter’s central tension: Cassian is growing into his role, but the rebellion is still a collection of fragile efforts, not a coordinated movement ready to act as one.
Why does Cassian return to Mina-Rau?
On Mina-Rau, Bix, Brasso, Wilmon and B2EMO have built a modest refuge among farming communities. Bix puts her mechanical skills to use; Brasso and Wilmon form connections with people there. The group has found something close to a daily life, but its relative quiet does not make it safe.
Imperial officers arrive to conduct a census, turning an administrative intrusion into a direct threat to the survivors and their neighbors. When Cassian returns, he rescues Bix and Wilmon. Brasso is killed, and Cassian escapes without B2EMO, who is left behind.

The loss makes the rescue a costly one: Cassian gets two friends out, but the group’s refuge is broken and its members are scattered. B2EMO’s absence is part of that escape, not evidence that Cassian has stopped caring about him.
How do Mon Mothma’s family and political lives collide?
On Chandrila, Leida’s lavish wedding puts public celebration and visible wealth alongside the danger unfolding elsewhere. Mon’s relationship with her daughter is strained, and the event does not give Mon a way to insulate her family or allies from the consequences of her choices.

Mon cannot shield Tay Kolma from the fallout of his actions. Luthen treats Tay as a liability and acts to remove him through Cinta, placing additional strain on Cinta and Vel. The wedding’s polish becomes a sharp contrast to the risks carried by people working against the Empire. Perrin Fertha captures the moment with the line, “Pain will find you.”

The Empire’s pressure is not limited to armed opponents. On Mina-Rau, census officials intrude into a farming community; on Ghorman, Imperial actions threaten valuable planetary resources. Together, those strands show coercion reaching both people’s homes and the material wealth the Empire wants to control.

Dedra Meero’s dinner with Syril Karn and Eedy supplies a different view of Imperial power: a tense domestic scene shaped by the hierarchy surrounding them. It runs alongside the rebellion’s fractured networks and Mon’s public obligations without suggesting these separate pressures have yet converged into a single, organized confrontation.
How does this chapter fit into Season 2?
Season 2 has 12 episodes, released in four chapters of three episodes each. The season covers four years of story, with each three-episode chapter advancing the timeline by a year. Episodes 1–3 therefore serve as the first year’s chapter, following parallel costs and risks rather than one unified rebel campaign.
