The 9-1-1 crossover sent Buck and Eddie to Nashville for firefighter games, then put the cast and crew on an outdoor Broadway Street shoot in freezing conditions. In a report from TheWrap, 9-1-1: Nashville star Hunter McVey recalled the production working to get the visiting Los Angeles cast home before a forecast ice storm. The available reporting describes the concern and filming conditions, but does not document a specific travel emergency or establish measured storm severity.
What the Nashville crossover was about
The two-hour 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Nashville crossover aired Thursday, March 5, 2026, according to Us Weekly. Los Angeles firefighters Evan “Buck” Buckley, played by Oliver Stark, and Eddie Diaz, played by Ryan Guzman, travel to Tennessee to compete in national firefighter games.
The trip also carries personal and story significance. Us Weekly reports that the late Captain Bobby Nash had nominated Buck and Eddie for the games. Buck uses the trip to work through his feelings after learning that his parents are divorcing.
Why filming and travel became urgent
The final-night Broadway shoot
TheWrap reports that the crossover’s last filming night involved an emergency-rescue sequence on Nashville’s Broadway Street. Cast and crew filmed outdoors in freezing temperatures while trying to get the Los Angeles cast home before a forecast ice storm.

McVey, who plays Blue, described the effort in an interview with TheWrap: “We wanted to make sure they got home safely, and they had just worked extremely hard.” His comment refers to the production’s concern about getting the visiting cast home; it is not an official weather assessment or confirmation that the actors experienced a travel disruption.
What the actors said about Broadway
Stark recalled that the street was quieter than it might be on a summer Friday, but still lively: “It wasn’t as busy as it might have been on a summery Nashville Friday night, but it was still nice to be really in it and among many bachelorette parties and such roaming down Broadway.” TheWrap’s account places that recollection in the context of filming on location.

What is known about the storm—and what is not
TheWrap characterized the forecast ice storm as one of Nashville’s worst in decades. The cited entertainment reporting does not provide storm measurements, an official storm name, or a detailed account of its geographic impacts. It also does not establish that a flight was canceled or that the cast encountered a specific dangerous travel event. The most precise description supported by the coverage is that production wanted the Los Angeles cast to get home before the forecast storm.
How the firefighter games affect the story
The competition concludes with Los Angeles and Nashville sharing first place, while Kenosha wins the final challenge, according to TheWrap. The event also moves Blue and Taylor’s relationship forward, giving the crossover a character-focused thread alongside the competition and emergency-rescue action.
Where to watch
Us Weekly reported that the crossover would be available on Hulu the day after its March 5, 2026 broadcast. That is availability as reported at the time; check Hulu’s current catalog for access today.
