Trent Johnston’s MRI results became a storyline in 7 Little Johnstons in January 2025, but the episode coverage did not confirm a diagnosis. In a clip reported by PEOPLE, Trent described past head trauma and said his doctors had raised the possibility of multiple sclerosis (MS) before referring him to a neurologist. The report does not establish that he has MS, dementia, or Alzheimer’s disease.

What did Trent Johnston say his MRI showed?

In an exclusive clip from 7 Little Johnstons’ “Skating on Thin Ice,” Trent and Amber Johnston discussed his test results. As reported by Cara Lynn Shultz for PEOPLE on January 21, 2025, Trent said the MRI showed past head trauma, which he described as not being his medical team’s “biggest concerns.”

Trent also described reduced spacing between his brain and skull compared with what he understood to be expected at age 47. He compared the finding with that of someone aged 80 or 81. Those ages reflect Trent’s description in the clip; they are not an independent interpretation of his imaging or a general medical comparison.

Did the MRI mean Trent has multiple sclerosis?

No diagnosis is confirmed in the reported clip. Trent said the MRI raised “possible early stages or preexisting stages” of multiple sclerosis and that he was referred to a neurologist. The wording describes a possibility discussed in the episode, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Amber also voiced concern about possible dementia or Alzheimer’s risk. PEOPLE’s report does not say that either condition was diagnosed. The clip includes Amber calling the prospect “life-altering” and saying, “So, yeah, there is fear.” Trent said, “I don’t want to be a burden.” These are statements by the couple in the episode, not conclusions from a quoted clinician.

What happened in the later neurologist episode?

The season 15 episode guide lists “Roots of Resentment,” episode 10, on March 11, 2025, as the episode featuring Trent’s neurologist visit. The available episode listing establishes that the visit was part of the show’s chronology, but it does not provide the doctor’s findings or the outcome. The checked reporting and listings do not establish what the neurologist concluded.
