He first appeared on Dynamite on May 8, then wrestled Ricochet on the May 14 Dynamite: Beach Break episode. The reports distinguish the first television appearance from his in-ring debut.
When did Zach Gowen appear in AEW?
Gowen appeared on the May 8, 2025 episode of AEW Dynamite. According to WrestleTalk, Ricochet confronted him during the segment and took his prosthetic leg as part of the storyline. That was an on-screen appearance, not the match itself. WrestleTalk’s June 9, 2025 report covers both dates and the angle.
Who did Zach Gowen wrestle in AEW?
Gowen wrestled Ricochet on the May 14, 2025 episode of Dynamite: Beach Break, and lost. WrestleTalk describes that bout as Gowen’s AEW in-ring debut. So, if “debut” means his first appearance on AEW television, the date was May 8; if it means his first AEW match, it was May 14.
Was Zach Gowen’s AEW debut in 2026?
No 2026 debut is established by the cited reporting. WrestleTalk places his appearance and match in May 2025. An October 4, 2026 Wrestleview report also identifies the May 2025 Ricochet match as Gowen’s most recent AEW appearance as of that report. That wording establishes what Wrestleview reported at the time; it does not prove that no later appearance occurred.

What did Gowen say about returning to television?
In an interview with RJ City on Hey! (EW), as quoted by WrestleTalk, Gowen said: “No. I was afraid people wouldn’t recognize me because I haven’t been on television in 22 years. So there’s a whole new generation of fans that have zero idea who I am.” The “22 years” is Gowen’s recollection in that statement, not an independently verified career statistic.
The phrase “This Is So Surreal” has not been verified as a quotation from Gowen in these reports, so it should not be presented as something he said. The available accounts also establish his AEW appearances and match, not that he signed with the promotion.
