Team 3D’s loss to The Hardys at TNA Bound For Glory in October 2025 was presented as an in-ring farewell for Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley. The Hardys won the tables match, and TNA’s official recap said Team 3D would retire from professional wrestling. That framing does not establish that either man stopped all wrestling-related work or public appearances.
What happened at Bound For Glory 2025?
The Hardys faced Team 3D in a tables match at TNA Bound For Glory in October 2025. The TNA and NXT tag team championships were at stake, according to Fightful’s match report. The Hardys won.
TNA’s official event recap described the match as the last chapter in the teams’ rivalry and stated: “The Hardys reigned supreme and Team 3D would retire from professional wrestling.” TNA also called the teams “perhaps the two greatest tag teams of all time”; that is the promotion’s description, not a settled ranking.
Was this really the Dudleys’ final match?
The available event coverage supports calling it Team 3D’s in-ring farewell. It does not support the broader claim that Bubba Ray and D-Von ended every wrestling-related activity, appearance, or role. TNA’s recap used the phrase “retire from professional wrestling,” while the independent match report described the bout as a final encounter and the Dudleys signaling an in-ring retirement afterward.

What Matt Hardy said about D-Von’s final match
In a June 25, 2026 interview with TV Insider, Matt Hardy said the Hardys knew the Bound For Glory match would be D-Von’s last. “We knew at the end of the match that it was going to be D-Von’s last match,” he said.
Hardy recalled that the priority was protecting D-Von and helping him finish safely. He also described Bubba looking toward D-Von after he went through tables and recognizing that Team 3D’s run was ending. This is Matt Hardy’s retrospective account, not an independently verified report of the wrestlers’ backstage conversations.
