“Hurry Up Tomorrow Movie described in 3 words: visionary, emotional, and imaginative. Seeing Abel’s perspective on an event that took a toll on him was eye opening. Lots of Easter eggs for us xo. The sound production was INSANE. Definitely made for a theater! This movie leaves so much room for interpretation. The cast did such an amazing job. Seeing Abel’s name at the end during credits warmed my heart what an amazing accomplishment. Get your tickets to see HUT in theaters!! You will not regret it.”
The post’s enthusiasm is specific: its writer singled out the sound production, references for XO fans, the cast, and the story’s interpretive openness. The same article relayed two other short reactions—“Movie of the century!” and “the movie of the year!”—and described an Instagram user as “speechless.” These are selected social-media comments, not results from a representative audience survey. The Filmibee page reproduces a Collider story and identifies itself as auto-aggregated; it is not independent reporting.

Why the reactions were not unanimous
Early enthusiasm appeared alongside negative responses. JoBlo’s May 2025 roundup collects unfavorable posts as well as fan praise. It also suggests that familiarity with The Weeknd may affect how a viewer responds. That is the roundup’s interpretation, not a measured finding about all viewers.

What kind of film is Hurry Up Tomorrow?
The film follows a fictionalized version of The Weeknd, an insomniac musician drawn into a surreal odyssey with an enigmatic woman played by Jenna Ortega. Its themes touch on fame, death, identity, and the performer’s public persona. Trey Edward Shults directed and co-wrote the film with Abel Tesfaye and Reza Fahim. Barry Keoghan is also among the cast, and Daniel Lopatin composed the score.
Hurry Up Tomorrow is connected to The Weeknd’s same-titled sixth studio album, rather than being simply a conventional screen adaptation. The album’s identity and track listing are documented by Official Charts. The film’s official site lists its US theatrical release date as May 16, 2025: Hurry Up Tomorrow.

What the early praise can—and cannot—tell you
The strongest case for the film in these posts comes from viewers drawn to its music-world details and its deliberately open-ended experience. The same qualities may not persuade someone looking for a conventional thriller or a detached portrait of a musician; the early coverage contains both praise and objections, but does not provide enough evidence to predict how any particular viewer will respond.
