“He’s terrifying, it’s not Bill,” Nicholas Hoult said of Bill Skarsgård’s Count Orlok in Nosferatu. Hoult, who plays Thomas Hutter opposite Skarsgård, praised the performance as transformative, especially its voice, physicality and makeup.
What did Nicholas Hoult say about Bill Skarsgård?
Hoult described Skarsgård’s portrayal of Count Orlok as so distinct from the actor himself that it felt frightening. “He gives a truly transformative performance where there is not anything of Bill left and it’s scary and intimidating,” Hoult said. He also singled out the character’s voice, physicality and makeup, calling the work “really a wonderful character” and saying Skarsgård “did beautiful character work with it.”
