Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim and Jane Wickline joined Saturday Night Live as featured players for its 50th season. The announcement was made on September 10, 2024; it describes a past casting change, not the show’s current lineup. Later reporting said Wakim would not return for Season 51, while Padilla and Wickline continued.
Who joined SNL for Season 50?
Saturday Night Live named Ashley Padilla, Emil Wakim and Jane Wickline as three new featured players on September 10, 2024. Peacock’s Season 50 cast overview and a contemporaneous Washington Post report both describe the trio joining the show for its milestone season.
They were announced as featured players, not as repertory players promoted into that category. The hiring was for Season 50, which NBC lists as running from September 28, 2024, through May 17, 2025, on its official SNL page.
What is known about the new featured players?
Jane Wickline
Peacock’s overview says Wickline was part of TikTok’s live show Stapleview and performed sketch comedy on tour. Those are the specific prior-work details established in the cited cast overview.

The cited announcement coverage identifies Padilla and Wakim as new featured players but does not provide comparably detailed, verified background information for them. It is more accurate to leave those biographies open than to infer credits or experience not established by these sources.
How did the cast change after Season 50?
The original announcement and the later Season 51 lineup are separate events. A 2025 Daily Beast report said Wakim would not return for Season 51 and that Padilla and Wickline continued. That later update should not be read back into the September 2024 announcement, which named all three for Season 50.
