How the game works

Yahoo Tech’s October 10, 2025 explanation describes Strands as a word-search-style puzzle played on a 6-by-8 grid. It says letters can connect horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, and that every grid letter is used. That article also describes earning an in-game hint by finding three non-answer words of at least four letters. These are mechanics as described in that 2025 article, not a confirmation of current official NYT rules. The explanation says the game offers one puzzle a day and resets at midnight.
