What sparked the engagement rumors?
In its September 9, 2026, account of the couple, ELLE reported that Garner was seen in Los Angeles in December 2024 wearing a diamond ring on her left ring finger along with a gold band. The same report said she had reportedly been seen wearing only the band in October, which had also prompted speculation. Harper’s Bazaar likewise traced the rumors to the December ring sighting.
Those reports establish that the jewelry prompted speculation—not what it meant. A ring on a particular finger, without a statement from the people involved, is not proof of an engagement.

What do the more recent sightings tell us?
ELLE reported that Garner and Miller were photographed together in August 2026 and again over Labor Day weekend in September 2026. Those are reports of public sightings, not confirmation of an engagement or of private plans.
ELLE describes the pair as romantically linked since 2018 and their relationship as private. Its positive characterization of their bond is attributed to an unnamed source speaking to Entertainment Tonight—not to a direct statement by Garner or Miller. The sightings offer context about their public appearances, but do not resolve the ring’s meaning.
