A 2024 report on a court filing said Duane “Keffe D” Davis told Las Vegas police in a 2009 interview that Sean “Diddy” Combs offered money for the shooting of Tupac Shakur. That is a reported allegation attributed to Davis, not an established finding that Combs ordered the killing. Davis was convicted of Shakur’s murder in 2026, but that verdict addressed Davis’s responsibility—not the separate claim about Combs.
What did Keffe D reportedly tell police about Diddy?
FOX5 Las Vegas reported on July 24, 2024, that a Clark County court filing described a 2009 Las Vegas police interview in which Davis allegedly implicated Combs, saying he offered money for the shooting. The allegation traces to Davis’s reported account of that interview; the underlying filing and a full interview transcript are not available in the material cited here, so the wording should not be treated as a verified verbatim quotation. The distinction matters: the report describes what Davis allegedly said, not an independently established account of Combs’s actions. The available information does not establish that Davis’s allegation was true or independently corroborated.
Did Diddy order Tupac’s murder?
The reported allegation does not establish that Combs ordered Shakur’s murder. It is not a judicial finding against Combs, and Davis’s later conviction does not validate every claim in his past statements. The sound conclusion is limited: a news report about a court filing attributed the claim to Davis’s reported 2009 interview.

What happened to Tupac, and what was Davis accused of?
Shakur was shot in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996, after a confrontation at the MGM Grand following a boxing match. He died six days later. In 2023, Nevada authorities indicted Davis for his alleged role in the killing and described him as an organizer, not the shooter. The Associated Press’s indictment report
What did Davis’s conviction decide?
On August 31, 2026, a jury convicted Davis of first-degree murder with use of a deadly weapon in Shakur’s killing. The verdict concerned Davis’s responsibility for the murder; it did not adjudicate the separate allegation that Combs offered money. The Associated Press’s report on the verdict

Coverage after the verdict likewise focused on Davis’s guilt and the defense position at his trial. A conviction in Davis’s case should not be read as a court ruling on every allegation he made about another person. Associated Press post-verdict context · CBS News post-verdict coverage
How should Davis’s public accounts be weighed?
Davis’s statements and his 2019 memoir, Compton Street Legend, formed part of the investigation and prosecution narrative. The memoir is Davis’s own account: it can help explain what he has said about the events, but it is not independent corroboration of each assertion, including the reported claim about Combs. Was Diddy charged in Tupac’s killing?
The sources cited here do not establish that Combs was charged in the case, nor do they provide an exhaustive account of any separate investigation or proceeding involving him. They support reporting the allegation with attribution, not a broader claim about Combs’s current legal status.
