The Paul McCartney project teased on social media was McCartney III Imagined, a reworking of his album McCartney III. The teaser appeared on Instagram on 10 March 2021; the project was identified two days later. The available reporting does not connect that teaser to a tour announcement.
What project did Paul McCartney tease?
On 10 March 2021, McCartney posted an Instagram video showing multicolored dice labeled with musicians’ names, according to Guitar World’s report. On 12 March, the project was identified as McCartney III Imagined, a set of new interpretations of songs from McCartney III.
The names in the clip included St. Vincent, Damon Albarn, Beck, Anderson .Paak, Khruangbin, Josh Homme, Ed O’Brien, Phoebe Bridgers, Blood Orange, Dominic Fike and 3D from Gorillaz. The resulting album brought several of those artists to specific tracks:
- Beck reworked “Find My Way.”
- Dominic Fike took on “The Kiss of Venus.”
- Khruangbin reworked “Pretty Boys.”
- St. Vincent reworked “Women and Wives.”
- Phoebe Bridgers reworked “Seize the Day.”
- Anderson .Paak reworked “When Winter Comes.”
Guitar World also lists an Idris Elba remix of “Long Tailed Winter Bird” as exclusive to the physical release. The report supports the existence of that edition, but does not establish current stock, format options or retailer availability.

How the project relates to McCartney III
McCartney III was released on 18 December 2020, as reported by Guitar World. The publication says McCartney wrote and recorded all the instruments on that album. That description applies to McCartney III; it should not be mistaken for a description of the later collaborators’ reworkings on McCartney III Imagined.

No tour announcement is established as part of the 2021 social media teaser. A separate AceShowbiz report published 18 March 2026 covered two scheduled performances at Los Angeles’ Fonda Theatre on 26 and 27 March 2026. It described them as McCartney’s first live appearances since his arena tour concluded in November 2025. Those later shows are distinct from the album teaser and do not establish a current tour schedule.
