Who made the Survivor 47 final four?
Dalton Ross’s December 18, 2024, Entertainment Weekly interview syndicated by AOL featured Rachel LaMont, Sam Phalen, Sue Smey, and Teeny Chirichillo as the final four heading into the finale. The interview asked about their proudest moves, high and low points, and which eliminated player they considered the strongest potential winner. A fire-making contest would determine the final three, who would then face the jury.

Rachel recalled playing her idol at final six to eliminate Andy. In her account, hearing that others were targeting her and reflecting on her interactions with Andy—including information about her Block-a-Vote—shaped how much she trusted his assurances and how she approached the vote. Sam identified Operation: Italy as his proudest move. He described pitching Genevieve a fake-idol plan and wanting to bring Andy in as a third participant.

Which player did Rachel and Sam consider a jury threat?
Both named Genevieve Mushaluk as a formidable potential winner. Rachel pointed to Genevieve’s strategic and physical abilities and her skill at persuading others. Sam said he believed Genevieve could beat anyone at Final Tribal Council. Those are the finalists’ assessments, not an objective ranking of the jury’s likely votes.
What has Probst said about how new-era juries judge finalists?
In a separate finale preview, Survivor host and showrunner Jeff Probst said new-era juries tend to consider the whole game, including how finalists behaved at camp and whether they contributed to the community—not only the moves they made. His observation offers context for why jury management can involve a player’s conduct throughout the season, rather than just a final speech; it is not a strategy statement from the four finalists.
