Spotify’s U.S. Premium price increase has already taken effect. The change was announced on January 15, 2026, and U.S. prices reportedly changed in February. The reported monthly prices are now $12.99 for Individual, $18.99 for Duo, $21.99 for Family, and $6.99 for Student. Check your Spotify email and account for the price and date that apply to your subscription.
How much does each U.S. Spotify Premium plan cost?
TechRadar reported the following U.S. monthly prices before and after the increase. Spotify’s January announcement did not include a plan-by-plan price table, so treat these as reported figures and confirm your own charge in your account.

The annual figures are arithmetic based on the reported monthly differences, assuming 12 months at the new price; they are not separate prices published by Spotify. Spotify’s U.S. Premium page lists Individual at $12.99 per month and describes one Premium account, ad-free listening, lossless audio, offline downloads, and playback in any order. The official page confirms the Individual price, while the other plan amounts above come from TechRadar’s report.

When did the increase happen, and who was affected?
Spotify announced a Premium price update on January 15, 2026, for subscribers in the United States, Estonia, and Latvia. TechRadar reported that the U.S. prices took effect in February 2026. The amounts in the table are U.S. prices; they should not be applied to subscribers in Estonia or Latvia.
Spotify said its periodic price updates reflect the value it delivers and help it continue offering its service. That is the company’s stated rationale, not an independently established explanation of the increase. Read the Spotify announcement.

How to check your price and billing date
- Look for Spotify’s email about the price change. Spotify says it emails subscribers when a new price applies to their plan.
- Open your Spotify account page and check the plan and billing details there. Your billing date is account-specific.
- Use the price and date in your notice or account when deciding whether to keep the subscription; the reported plan prices may not answer every account-specific billing question.
Spotify says subscribers have a one-month grace period to cancel before the new price takes effect. For subscribers on a trial, Spotify says the old price applies for one month after the trial ends, then the new plan price applies. See Spotify Support’s price-update guidance.

Spotify says its free, ad-supported service remains available. It also says you can cancel at any time before your next billing date; check that date on your account page so you know when the next charge is due. Review the plan and billing information before cancelling, especially if your subscription is tied to a trial or another account-specific notice.

The current U.S. Premium page lists Individual at $12.99 per month. A three-month Individual promotion shown in a search result ended September 23, 2026, so it is not a current offer.
