PerthNow reported in May 2025 that Clark and her daughter Deja were preparing to leave, and later attributed the decision partly to US career opportunities, including TikTok’s Creator Rewards program. The comments cited in coverage are examples, not a measure of social-media opinion as a whole.
What was reported about Kat Clark’s move?
PerthNow reported on 19 May 2025 that Clark and her daughter Deja were leaving their Australian home for the United States. The family had held a US-themed farewell event the previous week. Clark’s elder daughter Latisha, then reported to be 22, was staying in Australia.
The May report did not identify the destination state; it mentioned California only as a subject of speculation. Clark was quoted as saying she was sad to leave her grandmother, who was 93 that year, and would return quickly if something happened to her. PerthNow’s 19 May 2025 report also described the family’s farewell and the initial online response.
Why did Kat Clark move to the US?
In a July 2025 follow-up, PerthNow attributed the decision to career opportunities in the United States, particularly TikTok’s Creator Rewards program, which the outlet said was unavailable in Australia at the time. The report quoted Clark saying, “We’ve had some opportunities come up in America and we’re going to give it a go.” This is a statement as quoted by PerthNow, rather than a directly verified interview transcript. Why did some social-media users criticize the move?
The May article printed examples of commenters questioning why Clark would move to the United States amid its political climate. One unnamed commenter wrote, “Why on earth anyone would want to move to America from Australia is beyond me.” PerthNow also quoted a supportive response: “We respect your decision, you can always come back if it isn’t working out!”
Those comments show contrasting reactions, not what most users thought: the reports did not quantify sentiment or establish how representative the quoted commenters were.
Did the move happen, and where is the family now?
A 31 October 2025 PerthNow report described Clark as having moved to the US with her husband and 14-year-old daughter, and linked the move in part to opportunities to monetize social-media activity. That establishes that the move had taken place by the report’s publication date; it does not establish the family’s current location or immigration status. PerthNow reported on the move in October 2025.
