Where to watch The Spider Within
Sony Pictures Animation announced on March 21, 2024, that The Spider Within: A Spider-Verse Story would launch on its YouTube channel at 6 a.m. Pacific on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. That is the announced release time; this article does not independently confirm the current status of the watch page.
What the short is about
Miles Morales is balancing life as a teenager, friend, student, and Spider-Man. After a particularly difficult day, he experiences a panic attack and confronts manifestations of anxiety. Sony’s synopsis presents reaching out for help as an act of courage, rather than something Miles has to handle alone.
Director Jarelle Dampier described his goal as prompting conversations about mental health among friends and families, while also making the short feel like a love letter to fans of Miles Morales. Kevin Love, founder of the Kevin Love Fund, said he hoped young people would understand that their feelings are valid and that they are not alone; he also emphasized expressing emotions and reaching out to someone.
