There isn’t enough verified title-by-title information here to responsibly rank ten Apple TV series from 2025. The strongest evidence supports a shorter, clearly qualified shortlist: Severance and The Studio lead on Apple-reported Emmy results, while Pluribus and Slow Horses also have notable recognition. This is an editorial guide, not an official ranking of audience favorites.
How this 2025 shortlist is ranked
The order below weighs the recognition documented for each title, while also distinguishing returning seasons from newer series and pointing to different viewing tastes. Emmy nominations and wins are separate measures, and neither proves that a show is universally loved. AFI’s 2025 television selections are another useful signal, but they were listed alphabetically rather than ranked.
Apple reported 81 Emmy nominations across 14 Apple Original titles in July 2025. In September, the company reported 22 wins across Apple TV+ titles at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards. Those totals provide context, not a complete measure of quality.
Best Apple TV shows of 2025, ranked
1. Severance — best for cerebral science fiction and workplace mystery
Severance is the strongest choice here for viewers who want a high-concept drama built around an unsettling question: what happens when work and personal memories are separated? The 2025 recognition is for its returning second season, not a series premiere. Apple reported 27 Emmy nominations for season two in July—the most nominations for any series that year—and eight wins in September, including acting wins for Britt Lower and Tramell Tillman. AFI also included the series in its 2025 television selections, as reported by 9to5Mac.

The awards make it the most strongly supported pick in this shortlist; they do not make it the right fit for viewers seeking a light or self-contained watch.
2. The Studio — best for sharp comedy about the entertainment business
This comedy is the most straightforward recommendation for viewers who prefer satire to speculative drama. Its 2025 recognition applies to its first season. Apple reported 23 Emmy nominations in July and 13 wins in September, describing it as the most-winning freshman comedy in Emmy history. AFI included The Studio among its 2025 television selections, which were alphabetical rather than ranked.

Apple executives celebrated the company’s nominations in July. Zack Van Amburg, Apple’s head of Worldwide Video, said, “Everyone at Apple is celebrating the talent, creativity, and hard work of all of our Emmy nominees this morning.” Jamie Erlicht, Apple’s Head of Worldwide Video, called it a “record-breaking year” and singled out Severance, The Studio, Shrinking, and Slow Horses for their impact. These are Apple executives’ reactions, not independent assessments.
3. Pluribus — a 2025 selection to consider for a new science-fiction series
Pluribus is included because AFI selected it for its 2025 television list, as reported by 9to5Mac. That report identifies the selections as alphabetical, so AFI did not place it third—or assign it any other rank. The recognition supports including it in a 2025 watchlist, but does not establish an Apple-only ranking or a viewer consensus.

- Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 surround sound
- A10X Fusion chip for ultra-fast graphics and performance

4. Slow Horses — best for viewers after a returning spy drama
Slow Horses is the established returning-series option in this shortlist. Apple’s 2025 Emmy announcements included it among the top program nominees, and the September results reported a directing win. That is meaningful recognition, but the available results do not put it on the same award footing as the nomination and win totals Apple reported for Severance and The Studio.
5. Shrinking — a 2025 Emmy-recognized comedy option
Apple named Shrinking among its 2025 Emmy-recognized titles. That establishes nominations, not a comparative quality ranking or an award win. It belongs on a shortlist for viewers considering a comedy, but the available evidence does not support placing it above the four titles with clearer distinctions in the recognition record.

6. Your Friends & Neighbors — a 2025 Emmy-recognized drama option
Your Friends & Neighbors was among the Apple titles recognized in the company’s 2025 Emmy announcements. The available information establishes nominations only; it does not provide a basis for claiming that audiences preferred it to other Apple series.
7. Dope Thief — another nominated Apple title to investigate
Apple also named Dope Thief among its Emmy-recognized titles in 2025. The evidence available here confirms nominations, but does not establish a win or a defensible position relative to the other titles. Treat it as an additional option rather than a firmly ranked recommendation.

What the awards do—and don’t—tell you
Apple’s July announcement counted nominations; its September announcement counted wins. The distinction matters: Severance had the largest nomination total among series in 2025 according to Apple, while The Studio had the largest win total among the titles in this shortlist. Those are different achievements.
The AFI selections offer a separate form of recognition. As reported by 9to5Mac, AFI included Pluribus, Severance, and The Studio among its 2025 television choices. The titles were alphabetized, not ranked, so the list cannot be used to infer which AFI considered best.
How to verify the full Apple TV 2025 slate
“2025 show” can mean a series that premiered during 2025 or a new season of an older series that aired during the year. A complete ten-title ranking needs to apply one of those definitions consistently and check every entry against Apple’s Apple Originals series catalog. The evidence summarized here does not establish a complete ten-show slate, so extending this ranking with unverified titles would give a false impression of precision.
Where to watch Apple TV shows
Apple’s service page says Apple TV is available through Apple devices, smart TVs, streaming devices, consoles, Android and Windows devices, and the web. The Apple TV 4K is an optional hardware route to the service, not a requirement for watching these shows. Supported devices and offers can change; check Apple’s current Apple TV service page for up-to-date details.
