The most expensive wedding on this list is Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant’s extended celebration, which Tie the Knot Scotland estimated at about $600 million in 2025. That figure is not an audited or officially confirmed total—and it is not directly comparable with every number below. The 18 entries here are an editorial compilation of reported nominal costs, not a definitive ranking: outlets cover different weddings, years, currencies and event components, and no common verified dataset establishes exactly 18 places.
To keep the comparison transparent, entries are ordered by the dollar amount each cited source reported, without adjusting for inflation or converting other currencies. Each figure is attributed to its outlet and publication year; it should be read as an estimate, not an official price. Where sources disagree, both reports are shown rather than treated as a settled total.
How the ranking works—and why estimates differ
Wedding totals can mean different things. A Forbes methodology reproduced by Mariah Carey Archives in 2007 counted estimates for the venue, flowers, catering, entertainment and gown, but excluded honeymoons. Other lists may count security, multiple days of festivities or celebrations before the ceremony. The costs are rarely officially confirmed, and estimates can vary considerably between sources.
This is a nominal-cost compilation: it does not mix inflation-adjusted figures into the ranking or convert euros and pounds into dollars. Its 18 entries are selected from published roundups and reporting, not a uniformly audited survey. The ordering is therefore a guide to reported scale, not a precise accounting of which wedding cost more.

The 18 weddings, by reported cost
-
Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant — approximately $600 million
Tie the Knot Scotland reported an estimate of about $600 million (approximately £462 million) in 2025 for the couple’s extended celebrations. The total reflects a reported multi-event celebration; it should not be read as an audited figure. A separate, earlier Stacker list put the wedding at $100 million in 2022, illustrating how widely estimates differ across outlets and publication dates. Tie the Knot Scotland (2025); Stacker (2022).
-
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan — $100 million
Stacker reported a $100 million nominal estimate in 2022. Its same entry listed $342 million as an inflation-adjusted value; that adjusted number is not used to rank this list. Stacker (2022).
-
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez — €40 million to €48 million; also reported above $50 million
Tie the Knot Scotland estimated €40 million to €48 million for the couple’s three-day Venice wedding in 2025 and reported a guest count of approximately 200 to 250. Us Weekly separately reported a cost above $50 million for the wedding weekend that year. The reports use different currencies and do not establish identical event boundaries, so they are best treated as competing estimates, not exact equivalents. Tie the Knot Scotland (2025); Us Weekly (2025).
-
Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer — $48 million
Stacker reported a $48 million nominal estimate in 2022 and listed $155 million as its inflation-adjusted value. Its account also cited an estimated $600,000 for security, a reminder that royal-wedding estimates may include substantial public-safety costs. Stacker reported the BBC figure that more than 750 million people in 74 countries watched the wedding broadcast; viewership is context, not part of the cost estimate. Stacker (2022).

What the numbers do—and do not—show
Inflation changes the comparison
Stacker’s 2022 roundup supplied both original estimates and inflation-adjusted amounts for several weddings. Those adjusted figures answer a different question—what a past amount might represent in later dollars—so they should not be inserted alongside nominal costs as if all entries were priced on the same basis. The calculation date and a common adjustment series are not established for this compilation.
Security and event scope can reshape a total
A royal estimate that includes security is not measuring exactly the same thing as a private celebration budget limited to venue, food and entertainment. Likewise, a single-day ceremony and a week of associated events have different boundaries. Without consistent accounts of what each estimate includes, small differences in rank are not meaningful.

Why this cannot be a verified top 18
The source roundups have different scopes: Stacker’s 2022 list contains 15 entries, Tie the Knot Scotland’s 2025 list has 12, and the Forbes ranking reproduced in 2007 covers 20 weddings under a different methodology. None establishes audited costs for a common set of exactly 18 weddings. For that reason, the list above distinguishes figures supported by named reports from entries for which the cited material does not provide a comparable amount.
