Aidan’s Light scheduled a mental health fair and screenings of My Ascension for Monday, October 5, 2026, in the Austin, Minnesota, area. That date has passed. The available local reporting confirms the planned venues and film, but does not establish attendance, event outcomes or whether additional screenings were later arranged.
What was scheduled
KTTC reported that Kasson-based nonprofit Aidan’s Light planned the event for October 5, 2026. The fair was scheduled for Knowlton Auditorium at Austin High School. The announcement also listed screenings at four schools:
- Austin High School
- Austin Middle School
- Blooming Prairie High School
- Southland High School
KTTC’s September 23 announcement and its October 5 event-day page both place the fair at Austin High School. The reporting does not establish whether the screenings at all four schools took place as planned. KTTC’s September 23 announcement; KTTC’s October 5 event-day page.
Who organized the event
KTTC described Aidan’s Light as a Kasson-based nonprofit founded by the Hegge family after their son Aidan died by suicide. The station reported that the organization sponsors mental-health events and programs, supports families who have lost loved ones to suicide, and awards scholarships to graduating Kasson-Mantorville High School seniors. These details are attributed to KTTC’s local report; the cited coverage does not provide current first-party information from the organization.

About the documentary
My Ascension tells the story of Emma Benoit, who survived a suicide attempt at age 16 and later traveled to raise awareness about mental health and suicide prevention among children and teenagers, according to KTTC’s event announcement. The report does not give details about discussions or support resources available alongside the planned screenings.
What remains unknown
The available coverage announces the plans, not a post-event account. It does not report attendance, audience response, whether the scheduled screenings occurred, or whether Aidan’s Light has announced further showings or related resources. A separate KTTC report about a Kasson-Mantorville event in 2023 does not establish that the 2026 event was free or had the same format.
