Hyundai Motor Group says the film focuses on electronic braking systems, rear-wheel steering and air suspension—and reports awards from Cannes, the Telly Awards and Muse Creative Awards. The Telly’s own listing gives the film a different award level from the company’s announcement.
What is Why Fight Cold? about?
Released on YouTube, the film follows Hyundai Mobis researchers working through severe winter conditions at a testing facility in Sweden. Hyundai Motor Group describes it as an approximately 20-minute documentary about development work and repeated checks of vehicle technologies in temperatures as low as minus 40°C. The Muse Creative Awards entry identifies the filming location as Arjeplog in northern Sweden and describes the facility as a winter proving ground used by Mobis engineers and partner engineers.
The technologies in the film
- Electronic braking systems (EMB): one of the development areas named by Hyundai Motor Group.
- Rear-wheel steering (RWS): another technology the film follows through winter testing.
- Air suspension: also included in the documentary’s engineering focus.
The film’s premise is the work behind testing these systems in harsh cold, rather than a general travel account of the Swedish winter facility.
Which awards did the documentary receive?
Hyundai Motor Group’s October 7, 2026 announcement reports that Why Fight Cold? was an Automotive finalist at the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards for a second consecutive year, received a Telly Silver, and won two Muse awards, in Documentary and Automotive.

| Award | Record reported | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards | Automotive finalist | Hyundai Motor Group says this was the film’s second consecutive year as a finalist. |
| Telly Awards | Silver, according to Hyundai Motor Group | The Telly Awards’ 2026 category listing instead identifies the entry as a Bronze Winner in General-Documentary: Short Form (Under 40 Minutes). |
| Muse Creative Awards | Two awards, in Documentary and Automotive, according to Hyundai Motor Group | The Muse entry consulted lists the film in Video – Documentary; it identifies Hyundai MOBIS as entrant and client, and South Korea as the country/region. |
Why the Telly award level is unclear
The company announcement’s Telly Silver description does not match the Telly Awards’ own category page, which calls the film a Bronze Winner in General-Documentary: Short Form (Under 40 Minutes). The available records do not establish whether the Silver refers to another category. It is therefore more accurate to attribute each label to its source than to present one as a reconciled result.
Where can you watch it?
Hyundai Motor Group says the documentary is available on YouTube. The cited announcement and award listings do not establish a physical-media edition or another viewing format.
