What are DuVernay’s and Poitras’s new IDFA films about?
IDFA’s program places the two works together in Signed, a section the festival describes as celebrating filmmakers with a distinct artistic signature. They differ sharply in length and subject.

These are the festival’s descriptions of the films, not independent findings about the events they depict. IDFA also connects 14th with DuVernay’s 2016 documentary 13th, noting the ten-year interval between the films; the new title is 14th.

What else has IDFA added?
The September 29 announcement covers more than the two highlighted films. The additions span the short documentary competition, Signed, Best of Fests, Paradocs, and DocLab. Variety’s report says Best of Fests has 59 titles and Paradocs has 16. It also notes that DocLab had revealed its first 20th-anniversary projects, while its complete program had not yet been announced in that report.
The additions are not the same as a final, complete festival lineup. The announcement’s scope and figures were reported by Variety in a report republished by Yahoo News Malaysia.

IDFA’s 39th edition is scheduled for November 12–22, 2026, in Amsterdam. The cited announcement gives festival dates, not screening times; consult the festival’s current program for screening-level details as they are published. The dates and edition number were reported by Variety on September 29, 2026.
