In the 2024 presidential campaign, prominent entertainers, athletes and business figures voiced support for both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Among the most visible moments came on Oct. 27, when San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa stepped into a live postgame interview wearing a white “Make America Great Again” hat. The endorsements and appearances below are notable examples, not a definitive ranking or complete list.
Which celebrities supported Harris in 2024?
Harris drew support from figures in music, film, television and business. Some made explicit endorsements; others appeared at campaign events or took part in organizing efforts. Those forms of participation are not interchangeable.
- Explicit endorsements and public support: Taylor Swift endorsed Harris after the September debate, describing her as “a steady-handed, gifted leader.” John Legend, Barbra Streisand, Oprah Winfrey, Mark Cuban and Viola Davis were among other prominent supporters listed by Axios.
- Campaign activity: Julia Roberts campaigned in Georgia. Jeff Bridges, Mark Hamill and Mark Ruffalo joined a “White Dudes for Harris” call. Charli XCX posted “kamala IS brat.”
- Rally appearances and performances: TIME documented appearances by Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, Samuel L. Jackson, Tyler Perry, Stevie Wonder, Magic Johnson, Jennifer Garner, Oprah Winfrey, Quavo, Megan Thee Stallion, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Cardi B. An appearance or performance does not by itself establish a formal endorsement.
Axios reported that Swift had 283 million Instagram followers at the time of its 2024 roundup. Citing NPR, it also said more than 306,000 people had visited vote.gov through a URL Swift shared by 11 a.m. ET on Sept. 11, 2024. That is a dated referral-traffic figure—not a count of registrations or votes, and not evidence that the endorsement changed how people voted. (Axios’s 2024 endorsement roundup)
Which celebrities supported Trump in 2024?
Trump’s visible supporters also spanned entertainment, sports and business. The examples in the reporting include public endorsements as well as rally appearances and other political activity.

- Sports figures: AP reported support from Brett Favre, Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell, in addition to Aldean and Greenwood.
- Business and campaign activity: Elon Musk endorsed Trump and appeared at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. TIME also described Musk’s spending on an outside group; political spending is distinct from an individual celebrity endorsement.
These names are selected examples from rolling coverage, not an exhaustive or ranked list. Public visibility, a campaign appearance, an explicit endorsement and a donation can each signal involvement, but they are different kinds of evidence. Why did Nick Bosa show a MAGA hat on TV?
After the 49ers beat the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 27, 2024, Bosa joined a live NBC postgame interview that included quarterback Brock Purdy. Bosa pointed to the “Make America Great Again” message on his white hat, making the slogan visible during the broadcast. When asked about the possibility of a fine, he said, “It was well worth it.” He had also told reporters, “I’m not gonna talk too much about it, but I think it’s an important time.” (Associated Press report on Bosa and the fine; Axios report on the hat)

Why did the NFL fine Bosa?
On Nov. 9, AP reported that Bosa had been fined $11,255 for violating the NFL’s uniform and equipment policy on personal messages. AP attributed the amount to a person familiar with the fine and noted that the league had not announced it publicly.
The NFL policy, as quoted by AP, barred players from displaying personal messages to stadium and television audiences on game day—including in postgame interviews—unless the league office had approved the message in advance. The cited rule says players are prohibited from “wearing, displaying, or otherwise conveying personal messages either in writing or illustration, unless such message has been approved in advance by the League office.” AP reported that Bosa knew the hat could lead to a fine.

Did celebrity endorsements change votes?
The cited coverage does not establish how many votes, if any, were changed by a particular celebrity endorsement. A large audience or a burst of attention is not a measure of persuasion. The AP’s overview discusses the possible benefit of energizing supporters alongside the risk that celebrity events can distract from a campaign’s message or expose coalition problems. The reported vote.gov traffic after Swift shared a link documents visits at a particular time; it does not show how visitors voted. (AP’s analysis of celebrity involvement)
