Made on the Left’s 16-year milestone belongs to its 2024 Christmas market: the Western Australian creative collective says it was founded in 2008. The next listed market is scheduled for 21–22 November 2026 at Fremantle’s Esplanade Park, with free entry and more than 100 WA artists and designers expected.
When and where is the 2026 Made on the Left Christmas Market?
The organizer lists the 2026 market for Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November, from 10am to 5pm, at Esplanade Park on Marine Terrace in Fremantle. The City of Fremantle’s November events calendar also includes a Made on the Left market at Esplanade Reserve, corroborating the venue area. Check the organizer’s event page for updates, as event logistics can change.
Is entry free?
Yes. Public entry is free, according to the organizer’s 2026 event listing. The $200-per-day fee shown on the application page is for stallholders renting a 3m × 3m space, not for visitors.
What can visitors expect to find?
Made on the Left expects more than 100 Western Australian artists and designers at the 2026 market. Its listed categories include contemporary fashion, jewellery, art, ceramics, homewares, skincare and gifts. The application information also names candles, accessories, food and beverages; the event page mentions gourmet food trucks and artisan treats.

The selection process is part of the market’s focus: the organizer says applications are juried for originality, quality and craftsmanship, with work designed and made by the artist in Western Australia. It also says it rotates stallholders to avoid too many similar offerings. That is the organizer’s stated criterion, not a guarantee that every product is wholly handmade; check with an individual stallholder about how a particular item is made. Why the 16-year milestone refers to 2024
Made on the Left says it was founded in 2008 to support Western Australian creative talent and independent designers. PerthNow’s report of 19 October 2024 likewise described the not-for-profit as formed by independent designers in 2008. That makes 2024 the 16-year milestone; it would be misleading to describe the 2026 edition as the event’s 16th anniversary. The organizer now promotes it simply as the Made on the Left 2026 Christmas Market.

PerthNow’s 2024 coverage also showed what the local-maker focus can mean in practice. Jo Riley of Coastal West Creative, then entering her seventh year as a stallholder, said her beach-themed Christmas cards and coasters used photographs taken on local beaches and designs she created herself. She also described gifts featuring photographs from around Western Australia, including cushions, aprons, bags, coasters and notebooks.
