The Frog is a South Korean suspense thriller about two innkeepers whose ordinary lives are upended by guests who bring danger to their isolated lodging businesses. The completed limited series premiered on Netflix on August 23, 2024. Its story follows a present-day vacation-rental owner and an earlier motel storyline that becomes connected through an investigation.
What is The Frog about?
Jeon Yeong-ha runs a vacation rental deep in the woods in the fictional South Korean town of Hosumaeul. After a mysterious guest, Yoo Seong-a, stays there with her young son and leaves, Yeong-ha finds blood in the room and must decide what to do. The discovery sets the suspense in motion.
A second storyline follows Koo Sang-jun and his wife, who operate Lakeview Motel in the fictional town of Dongho. They face the aftermath of a disturbing guest, while detective Yoon Bo-min investigates. The motel events belong to an earlier storyline; the two strands are connected through the investigation rather than presented as one continuous chronology. Who made the series?
Mo Wan-il directed The Frog, and Son Ho-young wrote it. Netflix’s August 8, 2024 announcement lists SLL and Studio Flow as production companies and Netflix as distributor.
Son described the idea as a story about “ordinary people who are met with worst-case scenarios and try to protect their everyday lives,” in an interview with Netflix Tudum. Mo said that people “strongly feel and remember a certain incident at a certain time.” These are the creators’ comments about the series, not dialogue from it.

Where can you watch The Frog?
Netflix is the confirmed distributor. The Netflix Singapore title page lists the show as a 2024 limited series and includes episode information. That listing confirms availability in that catalog region, not worldwide access. Check the Netflix Media Center page and your local Netflix catalog for availability where you live; subtitle and dubbed-audio options can also vary by region.
