Her words were reproduced in PEOPLE’s November 2 report via Yahoo Entertainment.
What Taylor said about her father
In the tribute as reproduced by PEOPLE via Yahoo Entertainment, Taylor wrote that she was still in shock and had never expected to write such a post. She summed up her admiration with the words: “Dad, you were my hero and I couldn’t have asked for a better dad.”
She remembered his kindness, laughter and passion, and said she would miss the morning songs he sang with her younger brother Rex. Taylor also wrote that she would carry a part of her father with her, tell his stories and adventures, and try to raise her own future children as he had raised her.
The family context behind the tribute
Graham Dinkelman died on October 26, 2024, aged 44. Contemporary reports said he had been bitten by a green mamba at home in KwaZulu-Natal in September. His wife, Kirsty, said an allergy to snake venom led to anaphylactic shock and that he spent about a month in intensive care in an induced coma before his death. This account was attributed to the family in reports by the Mossel Bay Advertiser and TimesLIVE.

Taylor was 14 at the time of the tribute; her siblings Maddy and Rex were 12 and 9, respectively, according to PEOPLE’s 2024 report. Those ages describe the family at the time, not their present ages. Kirsty’s tribute also emphasized how central their three children were to Dingo. The family had recently started a YouTube channel, The Dinkelmans, featuring family life, animal adventures and conservation.
Dinkelman’s wildlife work and the legacy Taylor described
Dinkelman was a South African wildlife conservationist and YouTube creator whose videos featured reptiles and other African wildlife. In a PEOPLE interview published November 15, 2024, Kirsty recalled his skill with animals and his guiding phrase, “Educate. Inspire. Protect.” She said he wanted people to appreciate and respect wildlife. Taylor’s promise to keep telling his stories connected those public adventures with the father she remembered at home.
