George Clooney said his eight-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella, still “dig” him during a December 3, 2025 appearance on the New Heights podcast. He joked that their enthusiasm would change as they grew up, and recalled that Ella had begun rolling her eyes when he called himself a big star.
What did George Clooney say about his twins?
Speaking with hosts Travis and Jason Kelce on New Heights, Clooney said: “I got 8-year-olds, and they still dig me, you know?” He followed with, “That’s gonna change, as you know.” The exchange was a lighthearted prediction about the future, not a claim that his children were already teenagers.
Clooney also described teasing Ella by saying, “Hey, you know, your dad’s a big star,” and said she would roll her eyes. These are his anecdotes from the podcast, as reported by PEOPLE on December 3, 2025; they do not establish what the children privately think or how their relationship will change.
How old are Alexander and Ella now?
PEOPLE’s article body says the twins were born in June 2017. They were eight during the December 2025 interview and nine by October 2026. A summary bullet on the same PEOPLE page gives 2014, but that conflicts with the article body’s birth date; 2014 is the year George and Amal Clooney married, not the twins’ birth year.

George Clooney on coordinating work
In the same PEOPLE report, Clooney said he and Amal try to arrange demanding work schedules so that one parent is home while the other is away. He described alternating when possible, while acknowledging that “you’re never going to get it all right.” His comments describe an effort to coordinate, not a detailed account of their childcare arrangements.
Amal Clooney on privacy
In a separate interview published by Glamour on July 3, 2025, Amal said she uses a phone basket to collect guests’ phones when entertaining at home. She also said, “We don’t put our children out there, we’ve never put their photo out there or anything like that.” Those privacy comments came from her interview with Glamour, not from the podcast.
