Absolute Joker is a physically monstrous version of the character in DC’s Absolute Batman, a reimagined continuity. The design images highlighted in October 2025 were credited to series artist Nick Dragotta, and the issue announced for Joker’s story debut was Absolute Batman #15, released December 10, 2025. Later coverage of that issue describes Joker’s origin and transformation; spoilers follow.
What does Absolute Joker look like?
He has a monstrous form, a stark departure from the more human-looking appearance attributed to him in earlier glimpses. SuperHeroHype’s October 27, 2025 report featured new images of the design by Nick Dragotta, the series artist. The images were a fresh look, not the first-ever reveal of the fuller monstrous design.
When did Absolute Joker debut?
The announced story debut was in Absolute Batman #15, which SuperHeroHype listed for December 10, 2025. The preview premise had Alfred telling Bruce about the man he had been pursuing. The issue has since been released, so the date is historical rather than an upcoming release.

Why is this Joker different?
In a May 13, 2026 interview with DC.com, writer Scott Snyder described the series’ reversal of familiar roles: Batman is an underdog and disruptor, while Joker is wealthy and aligned with the system. Snyder put it this way: “In this world, the Joker is the billionaire. Joker is order. Joker is the system.” The monstrous design belongs to that dark reinterpretation, though Snyder’s interview explains the broader character dynamic rather than the October image release.
Which issue should you read?
Absolute Batman #15 is the issue identified for Joker’s story debut and the one later reporting associates with his origin and monstrous form. Check the edition and current availability with your retailer; stock and pricing are not established here.
